The LaLit Grand Palace Srinagar

Fabulous location, we were welcomed very warmly and the car was valet parked which was important as it was cold and raining. We were offered a warm drink and a comfortable place to sit whilst the formalities of check in were completed. We didn’t even have time to finish our drink before we were offered an upgraded room at no extra cost. WOW! The room was spacious, beautifully dressed and we were shown our own private balcony with the most spectacular view and this was also very nicely furnished. Everything was as we’d hoped and expected, because the hotel is EXPENSIVE, but we received exactly what we paid for. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the Pandemic has affected everyone and this hotel has had to do it’s best to survive these difficult times. The facilities in the Spa have been cut back to save costs but when we went to use it the place was warmed and treatments were enhanced to ensure we were more than satisfied. Luxury is expensive and we really enjoyed the pampering!!! All I can say is that this hotel and the treatment of their guests is everything you would expect for the price you have to pay. If wehad unlimited money we would stay only here when we visit Kashmir, which I do often to visit family. Even when we do visit family here we often visit the hotel, just to enjoy the gardens and admire the building and the ambience. Although we may not spend one penny on these visits the treatment by the staff has always been the same as we experienced on this visit. One word to describe this hotel FABULOUS.

From the time you step into the hotel, till it’s time to say goodbye, you as if you have taken a step back into time. The hotel has such a vast and rich history, was an absolute favourite of royalty, actors and celebrities past and present. Every corner of the hotel tells a story including the chinar trees in the well manicured gardens outside. The breakfast buffet in the outdoor garden is spectacular on a bright sunny morning with the santoor being played to serenade you. Post your visit to the bazaars, temples and forts don’t forget to take a dip in their heated indoor pool.

The hotel boasts breathtaking garden views, chinar trees and the surrounding mountains. The great views from the room, food and sophistication. But surprisingly each and everything was the best in class and service we received from the hotel employees. We would like to mention Ms Bargius from reservations who made our stay special with her hospitality first over phone call we get impressed by her the way she explained us everything about the rooms and the property. The staff like her is the real gem for the hotel. And may take us back there are Zameer from room service and Ankit, Shabir from Food and beverages, the service they provide us was amazing in their chinar restaurant . We truly appreciate the warmth effort and incredible hospitality from the entire team. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

The property is known by the staff from the involvement of the general manager to the front office staff to the security staff and the atts and dets of the property everyone went out of there way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I am an army officer and strongly recommend this property to anyone visiting srinagar. A special mention to Rasalat at the front office and zahir and ajais the property is the best not only in Srinagar but in India . The staff looked after us not only at the breakfast table but in Every aspect of hospitality, God bless them . The location is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable n large the food sumsious and the hospitality memorable, kudos to the general manager keep up the great job Much appreciated jai hind

This was a sentimental trip. My husband and I first stayed here in January of 1988. The hotel is now lovely, a wonderful breakfast was served in on the lawn. The hotel is a good blend of history and modern service. The staff was lovely and very helpful and grounds are beautiful. I'd stay again.
