Tree of Life Lakeside Cottage, Srinagar

I have had a fantastic few nights stay at the tree of life. The room was spacious, very clean and felt authentic to Kashmir. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. Always asking if I needed anything and if the room was okay for me. Especially Kulsum - who showed me around where I needed to go. Great location too near the lake dal !

Tree of Life is the perfect srinagar experience. From the decor to the hospitality and location. A huge shout out to Kulsum and her caring towards guests and her assistants Sana and Mujnar. Must not miss Kulsum and her warmth to exp srinagar.

Tree of life is a cosy place with 1 duplex room, 1 junior suite and 2 beautiful Lakeview rooms. Perfect for a set of friends or a large family to do a homely stay in Srinagar. What defines this place is their personalized attention and Kulsum who is incharge of the kitchen is ever ready to make dishes of your choice and make her guests happy. They are a ppeasent lot and ever happy to serve their guests. The owner Khurshid Naquib who is well connected in tele J&K tourism sector was personally present on day one to take care of us. Kulsum ensured our stay was comfortable through out our stay and she is well known for making yummy kashmiri dishes.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was very clean, cozy and had the best views of the Dal lake and the mountains. On a clear day , the mountain ranges of Gulmarg and Sonmarg are visible. The staff is courteous and eager. Especially, Kulsum is so warm and bubbly apart from being a great cook. Khurshid bhai the owner is such a gentleman, very friendly and hospitable. We would love to.revisit with our whole family besides

Our family trip to Srinagar (six of us, ranging from ages 27 to 82) was made truly special by this incredible stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and taken care of in a way that no five-star hotel could match. 1. Location – Tranquility at Its Best Nestled in a peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle of central Srinagar, this place offers the perfect blend of serenity and accessibility. It's just minutes from the quieter, more scenic side of Dal Lake, and close to the Tulip Garden, Botanical Garden, and Chashme Shahi Garden. If you're looking for a retreat that lets you experience Kashmir’s beauty without the crowds, this is it. 2. The Home – Spacious, Cozy, and Beautifully Designed The unit is exceptionally spacious, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, with all the amenities you could ask for. The living room—with its fireplace, plush carpets, and cozy reading nooks—is the perfect place to unwind. There’s ample outdoor space too, with seating areas and a fireplace where you can bask in the sun or enjoy chilly evenings under the stars. Every corner of this home is designed for comfort and relaxation. 3. The People –The best part! The real highlight of our experience was the warmth and hospitality of Kulsuma, the wonderful caretaker and cook, who ensured we were always well-fed with delicious, home-cooked meals. She customized dishes to our liking, serving us omelets, parathas, dosas, fresh fruit, and chai for breakfast, followed by Kashmiri delights like Rogan Josh, fish, chicken, saag, dal, rice, and rotis for dinner. She was supported by two other caretakers who were just as kind, attentive, and welcoming. Their warmth, humor, and care made us feel completely at home, and we can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. Khurshid (the owner) and his wife personally checked in on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed. Khurshid also went above and beyond to make our stay special—he not only helped plan our itinerary and shared fantastic restaurant and shopping recommendations but even got us freshest river trout early morning from the local market, which Kulsuma later cooked to perfection for our dinner. Final Verdict – Don’t Think Twice! If you’re looking for an authentic, warm, and unforgettable stay in Srinagar, skip the five-star hotels and book this place instead. Good food, good vibes. Great location and smiles all day. Very nicely curated grand home yet cozy. Very accommodating staff. We made our own dish that day and staff helped a lot. Location is right in the heart. Quiet neighbourhood and accessible.
