Our stay at the Moxy Springfield Hotel over the Fourth of July weekend was a mixed bag. While the experience was largely positive for my family, our friends encountered significant issues that marred their visit. Pros: 1. Atmosphere and Amenities: The hotel offers a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The modern decor and playful ambiance made for a refreshing stay. 2. Family-Friendly: Our family had a great time. The amenities catered well to adults and children, making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. Cons: 1. Room Access Issues: Unfortunately, our friends were locked out of their rooms for hours due to a malfunctioning key card system. This was a major inconvenience, especially during a busy holiday weekend. 2. Bathroom Maintenance: We encountered a leaking shower in our room, which resulted in water spreading all over the bathroom floor. This was not only inconvenient but also posed a safety hazard. 3. Billing Problems: The most frustrating aspect of our stay was the billing issue. Despite using travel points to pay for the rooms, we were charged twice. We brought this to the management’s attention and allowed four days for resolution. However, the management, who only seemed to work in the afternoon, delegated the issue to the front desk staff, who were unable to resolve it. Ultimately, the billing issue remained unresolved, forcing us to go through our credit card services to get our money back. Conclusion: While the Moxy Springfield Hotel has potential with its lively atmosphere and family-friendly amenities, the operational and maintenance issues, coupled with poor management response, detracted significantly from our overall experience. I hope the management addresses these concerns to improve future guest experiences.
