Wayne, we are safely home in Toowoomba. I just wanted to to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving Cinderella a new lease on life. Definitely brought tears to my eyes to see what you have achieved. We both had a magical time there. Can we top that experience, probably not, but we will definitely be back. Wishing you and yours and all your chalets gentle days to come. Stay safe. Kindest regards, Helen five star plus.

Our anniversary was ruined! We stayed in chalet ‘dopey’ ($420/night—absurd!) and it was so disappointing. The room was dusty with mouldy pillows, and maintenance issues such as windows with faulty locks - which raised safety concerns. Additionally, no one bothered to inform us about the lack of local restaurants during check-in. We should have checked, but letting us know (basic hospitality) would have been nice. With the nearest restaurant an hour away, better communication about dining options would have prevented a ruined evening. Given the premium pricing, we expected much higher standards of both maintenance and service. My advice look elsewhere! Especially if it's a special occasion!

We can't say enough good things about our stay at the Mouses Rainforest Retreat and Lodge, it was just fabulous! 'Sleepy' was clean, fully stocked with everything we needed (we brought our own food etc), overall it was even better than it looks in the photos. As for the outside environment, it's just stunning, great views, wildlife literally at your feet (or door in the case of the scrub turkey!) We had an issue with our travel plans so we were delayed a day and Wayne kindly was able to rent out our chalet for the night we missed. Thanks a lot Wayne, we're already thinking of visiting again during our next visit.

We had Cinderella chalet. We walked in and was greeted by wayne, not once did he crack a smile, we felt like second class. All he said was to settle the account and everything you need to know is on the ipad! The front garden area with a table and chair was super dirty looked horrible for a front area of a "flash retreat".We unpacked the car and was heading to our chalet and passed wayne again, my boyfriend asked about wood for the fire and his reply was yes there is but a nice warm jacket can help! Then passed me saying there is a reverse cycle air-conditioniner there! How rude!!! The wood look like it had been collected in the damp forest and stored for years as it was dusty and damp and took forever for it to burn! Luckily we were smart and bought our own. The chalet itself was gorgeous by a beautiful running stream. Our chalet really needs a fix up. The fridge door never shut and when it did the beeping sound kept going, you had to keep banging it shut. The sliding doors don't slide good. The outside spa needs a good revamp, lights half working, ***** falling off. Outside chairs absolutely disgusting! Spa inside big but the plug outlet was super mouldy, actually the whole bathroom tiles were all mouldy!!! The bin was so gross and dirty. The electric frypan base was all bubbled and needs to be thrown away! Coffee pod machine no pods supplied just the cheap maccona sachets. $1 each if you buy from them, at least supply a couple we pay enough for the 3 nights! From bedroom to lounge area is a step down, very dangerous if you're not paying attention especially in the dark with lights low. Our chalet is in a lovely spot but needs a good tidy up and clean. It's had its day. The hot tub room is so uninviting! Oh and the huge sign that's new isn't to be seen until you pass the place! Not even on an angle, just faces the bush across the road! We never said anything to management as we felt like he was un approachable from the moment we met him. Sorry Would not recommend.

We stayed in Cinderella as an anniversary treat. It is rated as luxury and the setting next to a cascading mountain stream is magical. A private cottage with wood for the woodburner, a spa bath for two inside, plus another one on the covered deck. Wayne, the manager was friendly and helpful. Some fittings like the toilet roll holder on the wall, the bedside lampstand and the metal tray for the port bottle (rusty until I cleaned it), need replacing, as does the seal on the fridge door. The alarm that went off quite easily for us, turned out to be the fridge alarm, indicating the door was not shutting properly. Half the LED lights in the hot tub on the deck were not working and the broken filter basket floated around when hot water was added for our romantic soak. I mentioned the light issue to Wayne before we left and he indicated that he was aware some were not working. In spite of these little disappointments, we enjoyed our three night weekend stay. Hopefully the small amount of TLC needed will soon bring it back to it's former glory!

Our family of 4 from Brisbane recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Mouses House in Springbrook. The Mouses House consists of a number of gorgeous self contained wooden A-framed chalets. Chalets accommodate various numbers of guests. Each chalet is immensely private - they are each set down a wooden walkway and sit separately in the rainforest, and each has a view over a delightful running creek. We stayed in the Doc chalet which sleeps at least 10. There were 2 queen bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs, an attic upstairs with 4 single beds and a fold out couch in the lounge. The main bedroom had a hot tub with windows overlooking the rainforest. It was every bit as good as sounds and each member of our family spent time in the hot tub during our stay. The kitchen was well appointed which was fantastic as there are no groceries available on the mountain so - apart from a couple of cafes that have limited lunch menus (consisting predominantly of toasted sandwiches) - self catering is really your only option. Our chalet’s lounge area had a dining table and a fireplace (which we used even though we visited in summer - it’s chilly in the rainforest!), with plenty of room to relax, read a book or play a board game. Brochures and information about the local walking tracks were available in our room. There was also a deck with seating that overlooked the running creek. The communication we received via email from the Mouses House before our arrival was informative and timely. We loved our stay at the Mouses House, would recommend it highly and will most definitely return.

Wonderful location but the chalet we got - Doc was very grimey and smelly. The possum urine on the deck was so strong we couldn't sit out there for long. Accommodation in need of a deep clean and done regularly. Can't recommend this accommodation.

The beautiful Mouse House Retreat was as ethereal as ever. I have been lucky enough to stay there once before and the entrance to the rainforest and chalets surely must be one of the most magical in the world. Just a small wooden gateway into the sub tropical rainforest. The boardwalk is lit and winds it way through the forest to each chalet. This was a special birthday celebration so it was perfect.
