Pietra Rossa

Split|0.21km from Split Circus - Monty Python Bar
We booked the apartment as we were travelling as a group of 4 friends. Cannot comment on the pietra rossa rooms as they are in a totally different property. Make sure you know what you are booking. Ok so the apartment had good and bad points. Pros: The view from the apartment is beautiful There’s a lift that takes you to the apartment which is helpful as it’s on the 10th floor from what I can remember It’s only a 15-20 minute walk to the main centre of split It’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach A spar literally up the road Air conditioned and a tv with plenty of channels A large fridge A washing machine and clothes airer are in the apartment Beds were clean Cons: Noisy Air con is only in one room Only one wardrobe in one bedroom the other bedroom has no storage One bedroom has a working light and a lamp and the other bedroom has no working lights nor windows The bathroom is small, faulty and a bit dirty really The oven and hob above don’t look like they are cleaned as there was so much dust hanging off the hob Plug sockets and light switches hanging off the walls No safe Nothing to make tea and coffee The outside of the apartment looks like Del Boys block of flats from only fools and horses - not really a problem but not what you expect on holiday perhaps Not enough towels Broken ornaments around the property Some of these things wouldn’t cost a lot to fix and it would just make it tons better!! Suggestions ~ Another wardrobe A lamp and working light in one bedroom Fans for the bedrooms Replace the shower head and holder that’s faulty Replace the shower doors Paint the walls to freshen it up Add more towels Clean the hob and oven Maybe just freshen the decor up ie ornaments that aren’t broken etc Fix the switches hanging off the walls Include a kettle and a safe Personally I wouldn’t stay here again but for 3 nights it was ok. If all those things above were done I would consider it if I was coming back to split though. The host was a nice lady and she was quite down about her property. So she wouldn’t need to feel embarrassed or ashamed if she put a little more investment into it :)

The View Luxury Rooms
4.4/586 Reviews
When we arrived at The View is was not why had been advertised. The building was a construction site with wires hanging, dusty floors & half an elevator. Did not feel safe at all, it was an absolute hazard site and actually not fit to be open. We booked 3 months in advance and was emailed 1 week before arrival to say they it is under construction. Until you get into the room which was beautifully presented and the view from our room was mesmerising. The room itself was small, pictures are deceiving. The breakfast was nice, always fully loaded and fresh. eggs are upon request. The main reason for my 4 star rating would be because of the staff, they were so attentive, kind and approachable. In particular a man at the front desk in the evening and the two blond ladies in the mornings. Our room was cleaned everyday and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The location really is the best in Split. It’s right by a supermarket & a massage spa. It’s so close to the main strip and harbour as well as the beach (which is horrible fyi) but far enough to make sure you hear no partying in the night ! Everything is about 5 minute walk away, if that. Overall it’s the location and staff that made this rating more that the room itself.
Seascape Luxury Rooms
4.6/56 Reviews
Very good location, on the 14th floor of an office building, within 15 minutes walk from the train station, bus station, pier, and ancient city, the room is very spacious and clean, the view is very good (second killing the level of the observation deck). But the problem is that the contact information of the hotel on Trip.com is wrong (it is the phone number of other companies under Luxury, not this store), and the hotel has no front desk. It took me a long time to contact the hotel for accommodation. Figure 3 in the comments is the correct call
Up There
4.5/510 Reviews
My husband and I travelled on the 16th September on British Airways, which took 2hrs 40 minutes from Heathrow. Jet2 stop flying to Split after 31st August during the autumn and winter period. We stayed in 'Up There Design Rooms' which was in an excellent location with a short walk to all the touristy sights and nearby small beach. The rooms were on the 6th Floor gained by an elevator and were fairly basic in as much as furniture. Two swivel stools, a swivel chair, double bed with small tables either side and a clothes closet and shelves. We had a wonderful shower unit, toilet and sink unit with shelves underneath. The room was huge with windows all along this side with a view of lovely little white houses with red roofs going uphill towards the mountains. The window sill went the whole length along the window which was very useful and underneath was a socket for recharging phone or IPad. Incidentally the Wifi was really good. The best part of staying in 'Up There rooms' was the small coffee lounge, where you could help yourself to small biscuits, fruit, tea or coffee any time you needed a little refreshment at tables with some astonishing views of the Port. Adjoining this was the reception desk, manned by three outstanding staff, namely Petra, Valentina and Marko. They gave information about where to go, how to get to, and anything you needed to do, absolutely worth their weight in gold, nothing was a bother for them. THIS made the holiday all the more enjoyable. Couldn't beat this hotel for cleanliness, pristine white sheets, duvet and towels every other day... BLISS. The Old Town was really interesting, with shops, restaurants, and bars scattered around it in centuries old streets and buildings. It's a warren of little streets and took a couple of days to get your bearings in and around it. We found a lovely bar in the Central Square called 'No Stress'. It certainly lived up to it's name. Just sitting there having a quiet drink and people watching was pure relaxation. The waiters and staff were so pleasant and efficient. We didn't have a meal there, but I DID sample their Tiramasui and it was 'top notch' to say the least. The cleanliness was second to none, as the refuse collector came round every Hour in his little truck and picked up the trash from shops, restaurants, and bars, consequently there was not a scrap of litter anywhere. We walked the hind legs of a donkey, as it was so easy to do so, because the terrain was pretty flat around the Port. And there were seats everywhere to rest the weary legs if necessary. The Port was 'busy-busy' and Ocean Liners coming and going each day, and lots of large ferries taking tourists to the surrounding towns and islands. The main promenade area was breathtaking. Best I've ever had the fortune to encounter in my travels and once again immaculately litter-free. We walked up to the Park and the views were superb looking down on to the Port and exquisite promenade. Th
Dream Luxury Rooms
4.4/519 Reviews
We stayed at this property for 4 nights. Not once in four nights did we have any housekeeping service. The sink in the bathroom is so poorly designed that in order to wash up, water splashes all over the counter and floor. We had to use our towels to sop up the unavoidable mess. We asked for clean towels & the person cleaning vacated rooms provided new towels, but did not take the dirty wet ones. There were only a few little bottles of shower soap in the room. No shampoo or lotion that is normally provided in accommodation that claims to be “luxury”. There were only two coffee pods provided for our entire stay & there was no sugar. The trash can became full. Our stay was over the weekend and on both Friday and Saturday nights, we could hear the music from the nearby nightclub. Even earplugs did not drown out the noise. There are 5 flights of stairs to climb to get to/from the rooms. If you are used to staying at a hostel or 2** accommodation this might be considered a luxury accommodation. Be aware, in our experience, if you do not give this property a 5* review, on any booking site, you may be threatened by the owner to never come back to Croatia again!
Apinelo Tower Rooms
4.2/57 Reviews
This is NOT a hotel - rooms - reminded me of renting a room in someones house and if their not home to meet you, then you don’t get in. We received an email asking when we were going to arrive - which we gave an approximate time. However upon arrival 15 minutes earlier than our estimate we were dropped off next door because building has no driveway- we then dragged our luggage up one flight of stairs to be met with a locked door. We buzzed and knocked for 5 minutes- we could hear loud chatter behind the door the whole time- finally a group of guests let us in and told us the receptionist told them he would be back in 25 minutes. Not a good beginning- we thought it was a hotel!! Probably the word Towers in name misled my thinking. The have 11 rooms - the room itself was modern and nice, however we were immediately behind vacant reception desk and it was loud from guests meeting and greeting. In the morning a note indicates to just leave your key at empty desk and your luggage in your room if you want to check it for day. Location of room was convenient. When we returned at noon to pick up our luggage staff was actually at property. NOTE - after 10 pm they lock office bldg outer door if you book this place and don’t respond to the email- your screwed because you will not be able to get into building without code. If you do get in good luck buzzing at the next locked door.
Briig Boutique Hotel
4.5/542 Reviews
The Briig is an absolutely beautiful hotel. From the moment you step inside you are greeted with sweetly perfumed air and a light and airy reception. The staff at front desk were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a room with a lovely view of the sea and a window that fully opens so as to enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the heart of Split - perfect if wanting to walk off a meal. It feels like a quiet paradise away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast is very well presented but we were initially not notified that there is a breakfast menu that we could order from - it was strangely hidden away from guests. We are also not initially asked if we wanted coffee or tea and thought that we had to get our own from the basic coffee machine. There was an actual coffee machine that we eventually noticed and had to ask someone for a coffee. The air conditioning is also controlled from reception - but they are happy to set it to whatever temperature you desire . The room we booked had a large kind bed and as I was traveling with a friend, they were nice enough to equip the bed with separate bedding for each of us .
