Staff were so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Gave us a text when we arrived to say that we could check in early as room ready. Supplied us with towels to take on a boat trip. Even gave us sun cream. Excellent location. Breakfast vouchers for local restaurant were given on arrival. The food was excellent!

Located only a few minutes walk from the marina this is perfect for sightseeing and boat tours. The property is in a rustic style with modern conveniences. Originally we were given the wrong room but this was quickly and effectively rectified. Our room by the pool although small had everything we needed although more hooks for towels and a mirror by the dressing table would be welcome. The air-conditioning was excellent and much needed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is by the marina at Brasserie 7 and there is a good selection which is really nice. I'll do a separate review on that. My only criticism would be that there is no shade by the pool so if you were planning on having days by the pool there aren't any umbrellas. I did ask the staff and they said they were planning on getting some. It was in the 30s all week we there so they are much needed. The hotel is not manned after around 6pm until 8am so if you are someone that likes to have 24 hour reception then this might be an issue. We would definitely recommend.

Originally I booked this hotel a year ago. While in Vienna I received a call of a death in the family and had to go home. I called the hotel which told me to call booking. Booking said call the hotel. We went back and forth like this for 4 days. When I did call the owner hung up on me saying she did not recognize the number. After many of these phone calls trying to cancel the owner put me down as a no show. She kept every penny. The tax, the breakfast everything. However she gave me a voucher for future use. The voucher was to cover the cost of the five nights good for 2 years. So we decided to use it. I was only able to book 3 nights based on availability. So here is the review. It has a pool which was a real plus. The TV was selections was pretty good for Europe. The room was clean and spacious. The staff at the desk was nice. The hotel location is not great. It is up a cement hill where no car can go. Once up the hill you go down a dark alley to get into the hotel. Pass by doors with garbage outside. The breakfast is a ten minute walk to a restaurant in Reva promenade which doesnt serve until 8. We did have an excursion early one morning and they prepared something for us which was appreciated. Overall with all the correspondence back and forth with Marina about the stay she never even came to greet us.

Great hotel in a great location, everything within walking distance. However we did find the hotel wasn’t easy to locate on arrival, few alleyways and steps to get to it. And also don’t fall for the refrigerator full of drinks and snacks in your room, everything was chargeable if you ate/drank it and a little bit pricey. We ended up going to the “Tommy” supermarket down the road and it was a lot cheaper to buy water/snacks from there. Apart from this, the hotel room was really clean, it was quiet in the area considering it was quite near the centre. Staff were friendly and always said hello, and the pool was so handy. Thankyou for a great stay.

This is a family run hotel with a Croatian old town house feel. We arrived late from our evening flight, with great communication from the team on how to get our keys and how to get to the hotel. We were blown away with how beautiful the property is. Pictures do not do it justice. It has a personal feel to it. Nothing is ever too much to ask from the team who run the hotel. The rooms were spacious. The bed and pillows are so comfortable! The shower is amazing, desk with a mini bar and tea and coffee facilities. We love our Tea with milk. So we did keep needing to ask for milk for our tea, but the team were happy to provide this every day after the first day. The pool is perfect for a soak after a long day strolling through old town. The terrace was beautiful in the evening where we spent every night with a glass of wine. We bought a bottle of local wine from a lovely shop at the bottom of the hill where the taxi drops you off. Highly recommend! this properly has everything you need for the perfect city break. The team will look after you and nothing is ever too much trouble. I was sad to leave, and cannot wait to return.

This was a little oasis in the middle of a busy city . The staff were helpful and friendly. The room were clean and decorated beautifully, beds were comfortable and the pool was a welcome break after touring around the city. It’s situated it a very convenient location.. little hard to find when you arrive but once you’ve found it, everything is fine. Not suitable if you have walking issues as you can only access the hotel by foot and there isn’t any lift in the hotel. No on site breakfast either.

If you're looking for a beautiful stone Heritage Hotel, right in the centre of Split, with staff who make you feel like family, look no further than this hotel. I arrived late on my first night due to train delays. I made contact with the hotel staff who assured me it was no problem. Upon checking in at 1am, I was extremely impressed by the room. It was as clean as anywhere I have ever stayed, with modern fittings and furniture set on the backdrop of an amazing old stone building. The room itself felt like where modern luxury and ancient architecture meet. My room connected directly to the pool, and I was delighted to find a range of reasonably priced drinks and snacks available within the room. The following day I met Jago, who I had only spoken to on the phone previously. He was incredibly warm and welcoming and informed me that following their end of season staff party, they had left the remaining drinks for guests for free. Jago proceeded to explain a few of the drinks available, some unique Croatian liqueurs which were all the more enjoyable once their cultural significance was explained. At all times I was a short walk from the waterfront. The location is ideal. The hotel is about as clean and tidy as anywhere I have ever stayed. The pool is heated and is a beautiful way to start or finish your day. Later I met Marina, the manager. She was once again incredibly welcoming, responding to my questions about the area and even inviting me to stay for coffee while we discussed possible activities for me. The hotel also provides a laundry service. I left my laundry with them in the morning and when I returned, it was cleaned, folded and returned to my room. Staff went above and beyond here, from Jago to Marina and the housekeeping staff. I could not rate them highly enough. Coupled with the beautiful building and the Central location together with the pool, this place is truly not to be missed. Thank you Hotel Agava, I will most certainly return!
