Our initial intention for staying here was just as a stopover during our travels through Italy. We most certainly underestimated the beauty and charm of Spello, and of this hotel as well. Our overall experience at Hotel Palazzo Bocci was very good, and it started with the first impressions and helpfulness of the gentleman who checked us in. Felt welcome right away. Located in the heart of Spello, this hotel exhibits plenty of old world charm with several beautiful and comfortable sitting rooms, old fashioned keys, and rooms with character! Candidly, the rooms may lack a sense of “polish” and modernity to some; but we found our rooms to be absolutely charming and comfortable while still being a bit “rough around the edges.” We found the housekeeping to be very good and overall condition of the property to be good. Our room had a small sitting area as you walked in, with two steps leading up to the bathroom and bedroom. A patio was off the sitting area with stunning west views of the surrounding region! Candidly, the patio (with its chairs) could have been cleaned up a bit more to remove the moss and vegetative growth. Our bedroom had a small window which faced the street and church across the street. The bed mattress was surprisingly comfortable; overall room size and comfort were satisfactory. The building has s small elevator. The complimentary breakfast “spread” was amazing! Best of our 12 days in Italy! The assortment of breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, etc were outstanding. Coffee (served individually in your own coffee pot) by the waitress was excellent. This hotel is a “gem” that could use a bit of “polish,” but we would most certainly stay here again, and suggest other adventurous travelers to give consideration to stay here. This is a central “base” to explore the wonderful town of Spello. (Special thanks to our host for getting us a “last minute” dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant. Also, for those arriving by car, free parking is located a few meters away in an open air lot)

The hotel definitely needs renovation and is not at all in line with the stars. Rooms with furnishings definitely in need of restoration, cobwebs, absence of topper on the mattress, no additional pillow. The most serious aspect lies precisely in the bathroom. As "old" as it may be, the part underneath the toilet seat was completely broken, with patches of encrustations and mold everywhere; Hairdryers from the 80s don't even work. As soon as I entered the bathroom I turned it on without knowing that the lock was broken; I stayed closed and if I hadn't had my cell phone with me I would have stayed there until the next morning. I attach photos. It's a shame because the location is great. I would like to add that as soon as we entered the bathroom we immediately noticed the dust rags in the shower forgotten there. Pros: - decent breakfast - very friendly breakfast staff Cons - old - dirty - inadequate stars (it's a 2 star disguised as a 4) - broken hairdryer - cobwebs

A two star disguised as a four. It's a shame because the frescoes and the building are beautiful, the room is very large and spacious. These elements combined with the location would make the stay wonderful but the bathrooms need to be renovated (a hydromassage tub and hairdryer from the 80s) with mold and rust. TV and minibar off, as is central heating. Very friendly staff with very good and varied breakfast.

Hotel with ancient flavours, you can breathe a fairytale atmosphere. Very large and spacious rooms, with a direct view of the center of Spello. The only flaw was the parking, when we arrived there was no space available, but with a few euros we managed to find a paid car park a little further on.

I stayed three nights in this hotel, large and well furnished rooms, comfortable bed and large bathroom. Rich and excellent breakfast, very kind and helpful reception staff. Excellent choice I recommend it

L’hotel è in posizione ottima per visitare Spello e vivere il borgo nella sua centralità. Accoglienza dello staff gentile e disponibile, ticket per parcheggio difronte alla struttura. La struttura è un palazzo storico con giardino e ambienti comuni affrescati. Camera pulita

Prenotato con Smart box. All'arrivo la camera che ci avevano assegnata era praticamente un sottoscala dietro la reception appena entrati c'era un odore sgradevole di muffa. Abbiamo fatto notare questa cosa così quasi costretti ci cambiano camera. Un pochino meglio, ma il bagno cadeva a pezzi tra ruggine e incrostazioni. Deludente

Abbiamo trascorso una notte in questo b&b in un palazzo d'epoca in pieno centro a Spello. Per essere un 4 stelle , la camera non è adeguata , con mobili vecchi e il bagno senza alcun appoggio neppure nel box doccia. La colazione ancora a buffet ( nonostante le condizioni sanitarie attuali) ma comunque soddisfacente, personale disponibile e cortese. Peccato perché basterebbe un rinnovamento delle camere per ottenere una migliore valutazione.
