Whilst visiting Plymouth for a family birthday, we decided to treat ourselves to a more upmarket hotel than our usual choice. I'm pleased to say that Welbeck Manor was everything it promised to be. On arrival, we were greeted by Louise on reception who not only checked us in but showed us to our room and even offered to assist with our luggage - that's definitely a service you don't get in many places these days. We had a lovely, comfortable (and very spacious) room overlooking the golf course and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend it for a treat, and the room rates are not over the top for what you get.

Delight to have found this magnificent Manor House for my overnight stays when I’m doing business in the south. It is stunning. Full of luxury, character and history. The whole place is on a grand scale. From the bed to the shower head (and everything in between) it oozes quality. It’s as nice a room as I’ve EVER stayed in. Breakfast was sensational and staff catered for my particular requirements without hesitation. To top it all Welbeck has its own 9 hole Golf Course which, as a keen golfer who needs a LOT of practice, played right into my hands. This is a glorious place to eat, drink and rest and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I clearly benefitted from a mid-week deal as the quality of the place is clearly worth considerably more.

Very good service excellent location Polite staff and friendly, willing to help with as much as possible 😀 😊 👍 , Good around any situation you have ie extra toiletries towel , hair dryer, drinks for all occasions, a proper service and excellently location for any occasion 😀 x

Golf course is the worst course on Earth. A hole in your own kitchen sink makes a better golf course than this. The tee boxes and the greens are battered, potholed messes. Tee boxes and greens look like they were strafed by Gerry in WWII and have never since been repaired. Kiddies' pitch n putts have better quality surfaces and make for golf than this and for half the price. Absolutely gobsmacked at the awful state of the golf course.

My review is for the golf course. I've played here countless time over the years, but not for a few years. The usual great views are a treat but unfortunately the course just isn't in great condition. Various greens really poor with large brown/damaged patches, and what seems like little effort to keep it looking nice. For £17 a round I'd expect better. The building is however done really nicely, that's v smart.

I took my mum for afternoon tea to celebrate her 86th birthday, absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and service, Karen could not do enough for us, was really lovely, exceptional customer service skills. The location is stunning, beautiful views.

Had a great few hours at Welbeck Manor today. Round of golf followed by cold beers and lunch. I’m not a golfer (terrible to be honest) so great if you are learning the art. Best bit was once the sticks were put away. Beer was good and most welcome. Not had fish and chips for ages so picked it off the menu for lunch. Delivered fresh, in really good time (quicker than expected) and the food was excellent. Good size, perfectly cooked, accompaniment’s were fab and the chips were to die for. They were better than the Barbican, Plymouth whose chip shops and restaurants are known for great chips. Very impressed today. Amazing view whilst dining too. Also, staff wise, they were great. Mainly looked after by Karen (new member) and she was lovely. Friendly, happy, helpful, attentive etc. Brilliant.

Great room but unable to use the hotel bar as there was a wedding on, so it was just room without any normal hotel facilities and a let down as a result
