The Red Lion Hotel

We stayed here for my mums 60th Birthday party, rooms are nice and fresh. Looks like new carpets have been laid throughout. Room 28 I really enjoyed with what I guess is the only room with a balcony, nice old beams throughout. Staff were Friendly and welcoming, Breakfast was a Roll and continental variety. Even though I couldn’t eat it at the time it was good. Thanks John for making us feel welcome and good luck in the future.

Been for Sunday lunch to celebrate my mums birthday. The menu was good we had the prawns to start and the we all had the beef. One person asked this to be cooked well done and the rest of us had it as it was cooked. When it came out it was perfect and so much meat. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the cauliflower cheese was lovely. The service was attentive and we didn’t have to ask for anything they was right there. I would highly recommend this restaurant it truly has a family atmosphere

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception with the team at the Red Lion with 34 of our closest family and friends. We cannot thank Kirsty and the team the most, they set up the room with decorations we provided which was done beautifully, the food was absolutely superb and they catered the menu to our wants and needs, we were able to play our music through their sound system and provided us with bar staff. All staff were attentive to our needs and made us and our guests feel welcome. We stayed in room 28 that night too and the staff have placed confetti on our bed which was a lovely touch, the room was warm and comfortable with everything needed. Attended for a work Christmas party. 18 of us and we pre-ordered. Very well organised. Food splendid, plentiful, great selection, good quality and came out piping hot. Great selection of drinks and very quick service. The team were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and I can be hard to please!

We called at the Red Lion for a few beers and decided to have an evening meal, the bar and restaurant staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Food was very tasty and ample portions, and I would go back. Overall, good value and reasonably priced.

Pleased to recommend the Red Lion. Stayed in the king size room which was very pleasant. The traditional pub downstairs has a great atmosphere and we were able to have a meal and then enjoy a draught beer. Can park outside free (not market days Tues and Sat I believe). Cleaning service is immaculate and staff very warm an welcoming.
