It's a brand new hotel. As one of the first guests, it's the first time I have an entire hotel to myself. The room is super large, surprisingly clean, and the Nanyang-style villaš is surrounded by banana trees, coconut treesš“, frangipanišø, and green lawns. No š¦, only the faint fragrance of plumeria.

The room was spacious, elegantly designed, and impeccably clean, offering stunning views of the garden and beach. The amenities were top-notch, with a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing spa, and a beautiful pool area. The food was delicious and we made our 1st wedding anniversary memorable. The resort is very good overall. However there's a few niggles.
Check in took way too long. 2 people serving? When you have a long queue in the heat of the lobby this isn't a great first impression. The lobby on arrival was so busy. When I've checked into other hotels I've usually been impressed with the smoothness of check in. This wasn't a pleasant experience or environment especially if you're traveling with children.
We couldn't get a massage. We wanted to confirm the time the next day and they wouldn't give us this option.?
The lift? One lift in the main area? For a resort this big and expensive they should have more lifts
The stairs at the pool are stony. This will really hurt your feet when you're not expecting it
The breakfast is good for Filipinos however for Westerners like myself there should be more choice. Not just bread and egg.
The beach is small. You get hassled by people trying to sell you stuff. Protect your belongings. Doesn't feel safe, look out for algae in the water. Not pleasant to swim through.
The resort restaurants are very expensive.
The lobby isn't air conditioned? Why not make it a pleasure to be in the lobby and serve coffee to guests?
Not everyone wants ice tea.
We were told to pay 6000php on arrival which luckily we had but we didn't know about this deposit for incidentals ahead of time.
The positives are.
They gave us umbrellas when we walked outside for the shade.
The shower in our room was excellent.
The warm water in the pool. And swimming till late is lovely.
The staff are very good and attentive and professional. They served us with care and attention and nothing was too much trouble. I got looked after by the nurse at 10pm.

Room and overall view were beautiful, very comfortable bed and clean room.
Shower water pressure and temperature were frustrating as the hot water would keep stopping
Restaurant staff service was very average, some times we were seen straight away, others we were ignored for ages before being approached. Food quality was very disappointing for such an expensive hotel, every time we ate there we couldn't have the original order as it was not available. Food options for vegetarians were extremely limited and disappointing.
Swimming pool was very relaxing and it was great to see so much natural space. We were able to go watch the rescued monkeys receive their daily fruit, which was really enjoyable.

Beautiful in a minimalistic style, two nice pool areas, one with infinity pool. We stayed for just one night, and we were mostly out of the hotel on day tours. Breakfast was very good, dinner was okay, not great. Compared to other hotels we stayed in the Philippines, this one is on the small side and maybe less family-friendly, more for couples.

We stayed at Henann Tawala Hotel for a week upon arriving in Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, living up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff were very attentiveāour bags were handled, and we were offered breakfast while our early check-in was expedited.
One thing to be aware of is the 3,000 pesos per night damage deposit. If paid by credit card, any charges, such as room service or drinks at the swim-up bar, are deducted from it, with the balance refunded after checkout.
The breakfast area is beautifully presented, with friendly staff who greet you warmly. After giving your room number and surname, youāre escorted to a table. However, we noticed some inconsistency in serviceāon some days we were offered coffee or tea, while on others we werenāt. There were also times when water wasnāt provided, so we ended up with double servings after fetching it ourselves. Consistency in service would enhance the experience, but the self-service station for coffee, water, and juices was convenient.
Breakfast options were excellent, with plenty of variety to suit all preferences. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. One small issue was being asked to leave a yogurt behind when I tried to take it out of the breakfast area. I understand the rule to prevent excessive takeaway, but I felt a little flexibility could be applied for small items.
The rooms at Henann Tawala are impressiveāspacious with great bathrooms and lovely balconies. Among the best weāve stayed in, theyāre comparable to high-end hotels like Radisson Blu in Cebu or Seda Ayala Central Block.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged a reasonably priced van for our trip to Tagbilaran, and the driver was punctual, providing a comfortable ride. He even dropped us off at the right spot for catching a van to Anda at the Dao Bus Terminal.
One nice perk of staying here is the short walk to Henann's beachfront property, where you can use the sun loungers shaded by palm trees and enjoy drinks served by the staff. However, you canāt use the pool there, and you need to pick up towels from Henann Tawala before heading to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there are quite a few hawkers selling tours, which can be a bit of a nuisance. We found better deals on Facebook. The sea is warm, though thereās a fair amount of seaweed. Iād recommend snorkeling to watch your step, as there are starfish and possibly sea urchins. We only swam once. If you buy mangosteen from beach vendors (150-200 pesos), check for ants, as one of our bags was full of them!
Just outside the hotelās main gates, thereās an ATM and a laundry shop that charges around 400 pesos for 5 kg, returning clothes washed, dried, and folded by 5 pm. Itās much cheaper than the hotelās laundry service. We also tried the Kajun Restaurant nearby, which offers excellent chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes in an American diner style.
On the beachfront, our favorite restaurant was the Oasis Resortās upstairs bar and restaurant, which has a cooling breeze and a great view of the beach. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and we highly recommend it.
While our stay at Henann Tawala was wonderful, Panglao itself felt quite touristy. There were many Korean tourists, and a lot of locals trying to sell tours and services, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Prices were higher than we expected, especially for things like tricycles, which cost 150 pesos per person compared to the 12 pesos we paid in the provinces. Restaurant prices were also inflated, and even basic supplies came at a premium.
If you prefer a quieter, more authentic experience, Iād recommend visiting somewhere like Anda. It has a more laid-back, provincial vibe, with friendlier locals and a slower pace of life, making it a peaceful alternative to the busy, touristy atmosphere of Panglao.

I recently stayed at The Bellevue and while the overall experience was decent, there were a few hiccups that affected our stay. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that our room's AC was not functioning properly, which led to a transfer to another room. After a long day of travel, this was quite inconvenient. Unfortunately, the new room we were assigned wasnāt as clean as we expected, so we had to request housekeeping to tidy it up, which added to the frustration.
The service at the resort was generally slow, particularly during dinner. The staff seemed a bit disengaged, which was surprising for a hotel of this caliber. On a brighter note, the breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of options, and dinner, though average, was satisfactory.
One of the highlights of The Bellevue is the range of activities available within the resort, which added value to our stay. Despite the service setbacks, we still managed to have a pleasant time overall. With some improvements in service speed and room maintenance, this could easily be a five-star experience.

We had a lovely stay at Modala Beach Resort. The staffs were very accommodating and helpful. The room and the pool was clean. The beach was great, it has fine white sand. I could say the resort is family-friendly. The only down side during our visit was that the beach had very low sea level, we were told that it would have better level during the months of April to June. The beach became a bit swimmable on the afternoon of our second day of stay, so we were able to enjoy the beach. Food served during breakfast was good. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation. Will definitely recommend Modala Beach Resort.

We had an amazing time at this hotel, thanks to the exceptional service and extremely accommodating staff. We would like to give a well-deserved shout-out to Ann from the dining area, Jane and Charlie from the reception area, and the security head along with the assigned personnel in the Kayak area, who went above and beyond to cater to all our needs. We will be returning to this resort as our kids loved the facilities and the staff's generosity.ā

SSays_KatyThat's the end of our stay at this hotel in the executive suite.
What we liked:
Hotel location;
Gorgeous landscapes from the room window;
Pool area;
Spacious swimming pool;
Spacious room;
The pool is properly planned;
Very cute dogs and cats. They cheered us up.;
The staff is very polite and tries to help with everything.;
Relaxing massage;
There was oatmeal on the breakfast menu, which is rare in the Philippines.;
Your requests are being listened to.
What didn't you like:
A small selection of paid breakfast. There is no buffet and you need to choose from the menu. But you can only choose 1 dish and drink for each one. In other words, don't expect to try even a couple of dishes for prepaid money. Here you can choose only 1 dish for breakfast. The rest is paid. It became clear only on the 3rd day of the stay, as they could not understand how the breakfast system worked.
We were charged 390 Philippine pesos for SPAM (or rather, three slices of local ham). It's expensive for this kind and quantity of food.
ā¢On the last day, the cost of paying for a fruit plate increased. It was 350 pesos, it became 400.
ā¢When ordering tom yam, we asked for additional shrimp (+250 pesos). We were served soup with 7 shrimp halves. We still haven't figured out how many shrimps there would have been without the extra ones we paid for. šWe thought they forgot to add additional ones. Then we saw the bill and additional shrimps were deposited.
ā¢Few seafood dishes. Considering that you are 50 meters from the sea. There are also few products with vegetables. We suffered because of this. There was no light food.
ā¢The leaves in each salad were stale.
ā¢Service fees were from everything. We understand when the service fee is for food, but we still don't understand why the fee was for a massage. That is, the fee for the massage + the service FEE for the massage.
ā¢There were also fees for filming shark swimming on our phone. We also did not understand why the fee, if the tour itself cost 7,500 pesos + 300 pesos was a service fee (again, we do not understand why it is not included in the total cost of the tour) + 260 pesos for shooting on the phone;
I was disappointed that when booking an excursion to swim with sharks for 7,500 pesos, fishing was included, but no one offered it to us. They just took us, we swam and brought it back. They say the tour took 5 hours, but it was two and a half hours.
ā¢Hand soap has not been refilled in two days;
⢠The automatic circulation of water in the pool was rarely turned on, so we swam with flies for two days... trying to catch them from there;
ā¢The performers were an hour late for the first tour, and 30 minutes late for the second. We don't understand why our time wasn't respected.
⢠One shower wasn't working. There was no water coming out of it;
⢠Often they didn't bring half of the dish. That is, if you ordered a meat plate with grapes, cheese and crackers, be prepared that I may not bring you crackers, but there will be 3 pieces of cheese. That's for 590 pesos. We ordered this plate twice, and two times we didn't get any crackers. The second time we asked and they informed us. Also, when ordering mashed potatoes with chicken, they brought us chicken without mashed potatoes. We asked and were informed. Everything was already cold. They didn't add a banana to the banana pancakes.
Unfortunately, curtains are not blackout, for those who cannot sleep without them, bring a sleep mask.
I write absolutely all the little things, as I am very careful about the service. I really liked this hotel. In any case, I recommend it wholeheartedly. After all, they communicate politely with you here, there are gorgeous views from a spacious room, and there is a large swimming pool. But I have to write down the little things so that the management can improve the quality of service so that staying at this hotel leaves only positive emotions for absolutely everyone! After all, the hotel is really beautiful!
GGiri KOur stay at Bohol Beach Club was truly delightful. The property's commitment to environmental friendliness impressed us, and the staff's kindness exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect for enjoying beach vibes and a serene vacation. The reasonably priced food with a variety of options made our dining experience enjoyable. Special mention to John at the restaurant, whose lively personality and attentive service added to our overall comfort. Highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
SSam Le ChiqLocation, excellent
Cleanliness overall excellent
Swimming pool excellent
Miscellaneous services: laundry service, gym, and other helpful services excellent
Restaurant. Overall, very good to excellent menu. Suggestion: fresh drip coffee or a fresh espresso machine rather than capsules. Also, vegan/Vegetarian options would be appreciated. There is definitely a market for it.
Small suggestion: āļæ¼Someā staff find it hard to smile. A smile always makes everyone happy, including customers. Overall, staff and management are friendly and professional.
Minor maintenance requested for the bathroom during the 10 days I was here was not taken care of. It doesnāt matter what it is. But I did expect it to be taken care of since I stayed here for a while and I mentioned it a couple of times to them. I am sure (or at least hope) they will take care of it eventually though.
One thing, though I highly recommend: the shower floor is very slippery. Even with water and no soap it becomes quite slippery. I have to be very careful. Itās a very minor thing to take care of but extremely importantļæ¼ because safety is paramount. I had to wear my swimming shoes in the shower to make sure I donāt slip. I didnāt mention it to them on the second day and asked for some solution like a nonslip mat, etc., but they did not provide it. ļæ¼
I did appreciate it that they let me stay over an hour extra to finish packing on my last day without extra charge.
Iāve been coming to the Philippines for over 10 years. I stayed in many provinces and many hotels. This is the best one by far and is highly recommended. Hopefully they will keep their prices reasonable for future. For the money, I think itās definitely the best you can get as compared to many other places in the Philippines. I would deduct two or three points only for a couple of things I mentioned above. I would give this hotel a 4.7 out of five stars.
AAnonymous UserMost of the rooms on the first floor overlook the reception, it is uncomfortable to open during the day, you have to sit in the dark
Strong audibility, you can hear both cars and conversations, poor soundproofing
There was a dog cage next to the room, someone was constantly coming to play, this is unnecessary noise, and the dogs also smelled
There are no shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries
There is no hot water for some time, in the morning it was not possible to wash
The shower is not fenced off, everything is just in water, there is also mold
Breakfast is a la carte, they cook for about 40 minutes, a very long time
Pros
The hotel has bikes for rent
The hotel helps with organizing transfers and tours (but with its own commission, if you take it yourself on the side it will be cheaper)
Ggibo_27We booked a two-night stay and overall it was good. Location is one kilometer away from the beach center. You can ride a tricycle to the center for P100. It is just along the road and it is situated within a commercial center where there is a cafe, convenience store, restaurants and clinic.
Amenities are good. Since this is a new hotel, the furnitures and appliances are new and in good condition. Water pressure is great, shower heater is working perfectly. Private javuzzi is a plus.
The bfast buffet is actually more of chinese cuisine and not of wide variety but just enough for the price. There is a big television but the channels and movies available are chinese.
Overall, still a good experience. It is peaceful and quiet in the resort and you can enjoy the pool area specially if there are few guests.
AAnonymous UserHotel' service is PERFECTļ¼when I arrived I was told something wrong with the water supply of the room i booked, so they already arranged another resort for my family, i told the front desk lady my main concern is the early flight next day, the big reason i choose this resort is it provides transportation to the airport, and she confirmed that they would send a van to our new hotel tomorrow morning. While my family is waiting at the front desk for the car to new hotel, front desk ladies even prepared free sandwiches for us. (it was about lunch time). by the way the new resort is obviously better and room also has access to the pool (see picture) but I want to say diving addiction impressed me most during my stay in sumilon and bohol.
AAllanMy wife and I recently enjoyed a delightful stay at Katchajo Inn from January 1 to 4, and we found our experience to be quite enjoyable. The inn's proximity to the beach and the center, combined with its charming and clean facilities, made for a pleasant and convenient retreat.
During our stay, we were pleased to find that the service at Katchajo Inn was warm and attentive. The hospitable nature of the staff added a personal touch to our visit, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our time at the inn.
The availability of free Wi-Fi was a convenient feature, allowing us to stay connected and make the most of our time in the area. Additionally, the presence of a mini-swimming pool provided a refreshing option for relaxation, adding to the overall appeal of the inn.
While the food was satisfactory, it was the inn's cleanliness and charming atmosphere that left a lasting impression. The reasonable pricing, in combination with the clean and cute ambiance, made for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
One minor area for improvement would be the towels, which, while clean, showed signs of aging. However, this was a small detail in an otherwise enjoyable experience.
In conclusion, Katchajo Inn provided a welcoming and convenient base for our beachside getaway. With its clean and charming accommodations, hospitable service, and added amenities such as free Wi-Fi and a mini-swimming pool, we found it to be a delightful choice for couples seeking a relaxing and well-located retreat. We would recommend Katchajo Inn to others looking for a cozy and convenient stay near the beach.
GGuest UserOur stay was okay but it couldāve been improved a lot by some minor adjustments. We were disappointed to find there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room which we believe should come as standard, especially in a resort. Also, bottled water is only provided on check in and not daily which we were disappointed with also. There were no Sun loungers around the pool like the photos depicted on Trip app. Very limited loungers on the beach front so they were never available. Breakfast was disappointing as there was no bread or fruit, and when bread was requested for myself who does not eat meat and dislikes eggs, there was no butter. Iāve never heard of a restaurant not having butter! There were very limited options, and you were rationed to only have 1 sausage and 1 egg as it was an assisted buffet. There was rice also but nothing to go with it. Also no tea bags available, only coffee. No laundry or scooter rental service which wouldāve made our stay a lot more convenient, and no assistance to help find these services when asked if they provided them. Limited plug sockets in the room made it difficult to use our devices and charge them concurrently. There was no shower gel, only a small bar of soap but shower gel is preferable. Water dispensers to fill our own bottles wouldāve been nice considering no bottled water provided on days other than check in day. All in all a disappointing stay. Aside from the nice beach, the location was also quite inconvenient as we hadnāt realise there were no other options of shops and restaurants available other than the resort itself.
Ccharlene maePros:
-Beautiful swimming pool w/lifeguard
-clean room
-Gugma Restaurant serves delicious food
-friendly staff except for that one female front desk in the morning as well as the no show manager
Cons:
-Misleading Information and must be updated! The ad shows that the hotel has all the amenities that we looked for are wifi/wired internet in the rooms, swimming pool and few steps from the beach but it's not. We checked in late at night and the location is far from the beach, wifi is available at their Gazebo or lobby area with mosquitos.
-There are 2 different hotel branches, one is few steps from Alona beach proper with wifi in the rooms but no pool and the other one is their 2nd newer branch which is 1 tuktuk ride away from Alona beach proper no wifi in the rooms, wired internet isn't working but with swimming pool.
-I was upfront to the hotelier that I travel for work and measure and need all those amenities that were stated on the website, but the remedy they kept insisting is to move us to their other branch which is older, no pool with wifi in the room as they do not have the wifi nor wired internet in their room at their 2nd hotel and that we can just go their in the morning to use their pool š¤£
-No one from the hotel apologize, not even a Manager's shadow reachout
-Trip.com said sorry and provide compensation but it's not enough for the lost working hours due to the mosquito bites I had while I tried to work at the lobby but was not able to tolerate it as I am afraid of having Dengue, did not get anything from the hotel's management
-tricycle/tuktuk will cost you 100 pesos per way PRICEY
-we tried to walk to the beach as there is another route close to the 2nd hotel but the way is rocky and stairs were steep as it was meant for divers or island Hopper not the white strip that were posted on the website
-corkage fee so better to buy at the restaurant at the hotel or eat outside
**AGAIN THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT HOTEL BRANCH WITH DIFFERENT ADDRESSES AND AMENITIES, SO BE CAREFUL IN BOOKING ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRAVEL FOR WORK AND NEEDS WIFI IN THE ROOM.
