Southsea Rocks Hotel

Communication with the hotel and check in was smooth and easy. Our room was a good size for the four of us and very clean. The separate communal kitchen was equipped with a kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, a fridge and microwave. It was clean and tidy whenever we went in there. The only things I think could be improved upon were the bathroom sink, where you had to keep pushing the tap for it to come on, a bit annoying when you are cleaning your teeth, and it would have been nice to have had a big bolster cushion for the bed, as it became uncomfortable trying to prop yourself up watching television. The bed itself was comfortable though and the tv worked fine. On the whole an enjoyable stay, staff were friendly.

Book in late in evening,car park full so had to find alternative parking so went a found parking 5 mins away .came back picked up keys and went to the room ,to my horror we were presented buck beds and a single bed (room 15 ) and found it is shared bathroom and toilet,room was very hot only a small fan to cool it .we had no choice but to stay as it was to late to find something else.on the web site it shows all the rooms by photos but not this room .had little sleep because of the heat. The advert of this so called hotel is worded wrong no uncover parking ,it’s the first hotel I been too where the kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared ,so surprisingly it’s called hotel . Asked the receptionist about the room to be told it was worded wrong on the web site.which I think was a easy cope out

Booked this hotel as I was local in the area. It’s situated Close to the local shops which was a great benefit for me. The Check in was smooth and staff were very friendly. Once I arrived at the room it was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed Great value for money and I would defo stay again if I was in the area

I stayed at Southsea Rocks in their Double Ensuite room and honestly I couldn’t fault it. I had a great nights sleep, everything was clean and in working order. I was surprised that the ensuite bathroom included a bath. The only slight issue was went I arrived and found the main door to the hotel locked and no one was available in reception. However j phoned the hotel and someone came to greet me and apologised but explained the reception isn’t manned but staff are on site. They checked me in quickly and explained about the key code needed to access the hotel. Tea & coffee is provided in the communal kitchen. The room has a fan in it as I visited during the recent heatwave. The hotel was very quiet at night despite being a hostel. I would definitely stay here again

Nice and friendly family run hotel located right by the beach and other facilities. Nice and easy check in. Shared bathrooms spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable with nice fluffy pillows . Staff always on call and approachable with any issues you might have. Shared kitchen facilities brilliant with free coffee/tea/sugar and milks plus shared refridgerator to place your food into if needed for a long stay, also has a microwave for you to use if you need to . We will definately book and return here again if we ever visit portsmouth again :)

I contacted the hotel after booking to confirm if I could check in late, as their advertisement clearly states they accept late check-ins for £15, subject to availability. I explained that I might arrive late due to potential train delays something I obviously can’t predict. Apparently, I was supposed to know that you’re required to call before booking, though that was never stated. I’m not sure why they even advertise the £15 late check-in option when it doesn’t seem to be genuinely available. The manager was unaware of this policy, and the owner was quite rude over the phone. Waste of time due to ingenuine options, did not seem to understand customer service.
