Premier Inn Southend On Sea (Eastern Esplanade)

The hotel was situated to where our friends were, and provided a guest car park that's convenient for reaching out to friends as well as other city amenities, shopping and dinning venues. The room's cleanness was mediocre at best, and cleaning was on a per request basis. Lighting setups could be annoying as the overhead lights above the desk/work bench were tied to the main ones, and they should have been replaced with less heat-emitting LEDs. The bathroom ventilation would need enhancement. While we stayed in a room with car park aspect, the sea view rooms offered much better views as seen from the lobby window overlooking the sea, coming with a 10% surcharge.

Absolutely beautiful viewing,good food,comfy room, parking place,friendly staff. Really enjoyed and absolutely amazing place. Near to the beach and not far away from the Walking Pier, which is the main attraction. They are plenty of shops around and souvenirs .

Bed is comfy. Needs updating. Stopped non staying residents coming in, why??? Staff crying at the bar because she was serving food and drinks. Staff issues! We are on a break, which we are paying for, managed the situation awfully! Awful experience.

This hotel is very run down the windows all need cleaning internal and external. The breakfast is woeful and the restaurant toilets and bar area is old and dirty all mirrors and glass filthy This is a very bad example for a hotel and the chef looks like he needs a wash

The staff and stay were amazing and so was the food. I was in Southend working as an extra for the upcoming Rise Of The Footsoldier. And during my stay at the hotel the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming definitely recommend. Close to the pier and loads of things for couples to do.

We have used this Premier Inn for short breaks over many years, and overall the staff have been great, we always request particular sea view rooms, and if not busy, we always get our choice or similar. The building is now showing it's age, and could do with a refurb, the sofa in the lounge area of the bar is years old, and the furniture is dated in the restaurant, however, the room and bathroom were clean, warm and the bed really comfortable. Not sure the decision to close the (now Premier Inn) restaurant to non residents is a good one, surely at lunch times in peak season Whitbread are missing out on huge sales from walk ins. One staff member did confide that there were developments/improvements coming soon, but we were told this last October also! Overall this is a great location, with on site parking and a short walk to the town and facilities.
