Perfect! Lovely little cottage, nestled between fields and the canal with a perfect pub at the end of the drive. Very quiet and peaceful. Small courtyard so the dogs could be outside. Walks along the canal and over the fields. Would absolutely stay again. Our host was perfect!! Warmly recommended

Little bolt hole We stayed for a week in December during a hard time for our family, and the property was just what we were after; rural, quiet and calm, with a lovely pub just yards away. The only issue we ran into was that the dishwasher was too small to clean the plates provided. But the owner was pleasant, the wood burner made things cost, and the bathroom was clean. Napton is a lovely village with a really good local store, and the Folly pub is fantastic. This property would work for a couples’ mini-break as I bet there are some good hiking routes in the area too.

Keep it a Secret I really love this accommodation. It has all you could need for a short, or long stay. It is very clean and Nigel the host is very affable. Whilst morally l know l should share this location, my dark side is saying not as l want to rebook for another visit and don’t want to run the risk of missing out!

Gongoozeling Superb location right on the canal with a pub at the bottom of the road. Bedding and towels smelt wonderful, well equipped kitchen, bathroom a good size and shower was good. Long walk on canal and over fields was lovely, weather was very kind. Hopefully we will return

Great location and a great host A really great stay in a wonderful location. Nigel is a really good host and great to talk to. Good views and pub really close. Lovely time sitting by the canal watching the boats go by. Property has everything needed for a comfortable time. Highly recommend a stay at The Stables.

Another stay in this lovely property. Visiting family in the area, we have stayed before and love it here with our two little dogs. In the winter months it’s cozy and warm and this time of year you can be outside, it’s very private and has a table, chairs and umbrella to sit and look over the surrounding fields, very peaceful, the birds and the sheep are all you can hear and the daily life of people spending time on the canal which runs alongside where it is situated at Napton Locks. You can walk or drive into the village and stock up on lovely local produce, bread, cakes, pastries, meat, fruit and veg and absolutely anything you would need for that extra special treat, it’s just a wonderful Village Store and The Folly Inn and The Cidery are within walking distance. The owner has made sure there is everything you need for a perfect stay, it is well equipped, clean, plenty of towels, lovely bed, the list is endless, a real home from home and we feel comfortable there, we’ll be back so thank you Nigel for letting us stay.
