Our daughter set this up as a surprise for us while on this trip to New England. When we were informed about it, we were both impressed and somewhat apprehensive, thinking it was a bit lavish. Upon our arrival however we couldn't help feeling impressed by the appearance of the inn, along with the peacefulness and charm of the neighborhood. When we entered, we were met by Mary, the inn keeper. Mary is a very charming person and she quickly made us feel right at home. Mary explained everything about the inn including amenities, our room, local attractions, restaurants and of course, the interesting history of the inn itself. She then informed us about the fresh pies, coffee and teas in the kitchen area, available any time we wanted to enjoy. What a treat that was. Mary then showed us to our room. The room was as charming as the inn itself. Very spacious and cozy. A gas fireplace along with a sofa, large desk a very comfortable bed with comfortable coverings and pillows. The room was nicely decorated and furnished. A spacious bathroom along with a good size jet tub, separate shower and a generous assortment of toiletries and towels. Later, we drove a short distance into town. Parking was easy and we strolled through the downtown. There are shops, pubs and restaurants to visit, all within easy walking distance. The following morning we enjoyed a nice breakfast in the charming dining room downstairs . A very comfortable atmosphere with great service and we felt right at home. This stay was an absolute enjoyable time for us and those pies were delicious! We highly recommend the Berry Manor Inn in Rockland, Maine. Can't say enough about Mary, the inn keeper. She is a sweetheart of a person and the icing on the cake at this awesome Bed and Breakfast. Julie and Peter L.
