We stayed at the Jaz Tour Khalef from 24th Feb to 2nd March. We had an evening flight and arrived at the hotel around 9pm. Check in was quick and easy with the man on reception being super attentive. Our room had to have something double checked so he sent us to the bar for a drink and along with the others who arrived with us, were advised that they would have food available in the restaurant at 10pm. This was specially for us having arrived after mealtime and was definitely appreciated. Our room was a Superior Garden View. We had room B513. This room looked out to the rear garden area and looking to the side from the balcony we could also see the sea. The room was spacious, clean, light and airy with a huge bathroom. A fridge was provided in the room, and is located in a cupboard. Looked like it had seen better days but we had no need to use it. Room had air con and heating and plenty of storage for clothes etc, and a safe. The hotel and grounds were lovely. The main pool is stunning and has day beds, loungers in the shallow water and also round the pool. The lifeguard was super helpful and would always locate beds and cushions. He would also always provide a weather forecast - knowing us hardy Scots could be more likely to sunbathe than others from hotter countries. While the outside bar beside the pool was closed, the snack bar is adjacent and is open. The barmen - also wonderful, would do laps of the pool making sure everyone has a drink. Even filled my cup without me asking rather than bring me a paper cup. We ate all our meals in the hotel restaurants and enjoyed everything we had. Again, the waiting staff are absolutely fantastic. They will locate you a table and provide drinks. Nothing is too much trouble. Selection of food was huge. Breakfast included all the usual continental offerings of bread, cheese, meats, cereal, pastries etc along side the cooked foods; eggs, meats, beans. There was a station making fresh omelettes, another for pancakes and another for doughnuts. At lunch and tea time there is a pizza station, pasta station, Tunisian station and 2 grill stations all cooking a variety of options - alongside all the hot prepared self service foods, salads, fruit, desserts etc. There is also ice cream and sorbet available. We ate in Le Oliveraie restaurant on Italian night. We had planned this before we travelled and assumed it was a la carte. On booking we were asked if we would like beef or fish. We chose beef and were intrigued how our meal would go. We were more than happy with the attentiveness of the normal waiting staff - the experience in the Italian was amazing. We were seated and presented with a tray with several small sharing dishes. This was followed by 3 small bowls of pasta, also for sharing. After we then got some carpaccio. Everything to this point was a mix of seafood and meat. Then we received our beef - a steak cooked to our preference, with sauce, potatoes and veg. Final course was dessert of tir

The hotel itself is a bit tired but the staff really are what makes it. They are attentive and jolly (one member of the bar staff was miserable the whole duration - might be in the wrong profession?!). The food is acceptable. It lacks seasoning and flavour but it does of course need to cater to as many palettes as possible. If you like flavour, take your own condiments (I hesrd the ketchup was rubbish but didn't try it perdonslly). The food is also a bit repetitive largely consisting of grilled meat (beef, turkey, quail) and fish, stewed lamb, chicken and beef, potatoes (mashed, sautéed), chips/fries, grilled vegetables (courgettes, carrots, squash, tomatoes, okra), pasta and pizza, soup. There was also a variety of different salads and bread (which always seemed stale to me). At breakfast there is no bacon! There are omelettes, fried and poached eggs cooked to order. The omelettes were delicious. There was also grilled vegetables, beans (not the baked beans us Brits know and love), grilled frankfurters, pancakes, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and museli, fresh juice and tea and coffees. Our waiter, Salah, was great. He kept us topped up with drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. He was always smiling and welcoming when he saw us head over to the tables and it made us feel like special guests to receive his superb service. The rooms are spacious, but despite requesting a double garden view room we were given a room overlooking the car park and two single beds pushed together. The pillows were not comfortable - a bit too hard and thick for me. Plenty of storage space but very few hangers. A wash and ironing service can be provided at additional cost. Tea and coffee making facilities are available but we didn't make use. The tea wasn't great so take your own teabags. The bathroom is huge, equipped with a bath and shower overhead. the shower was always warm but not high pressured, though did a good enough job for washing my hair and rinsing out sand, shampoo etc. Our bath didn't drain well and took a while so no showers in quick succession. The hairdryer in the bathroom is terrible - I never managed to fully dry my hair with it. Do take your own. There is a vanity table and mirror in the room but I found the lighting at night too dark to do my makeup. the bathroom was better lit. Drinks are ok. Beer is a 3% local and red wine a 13% local drop. The white wine tastes like vinegar so we avoided that after the first glass or two. Cocktails are strong but very sweet. They have Coca Cola and other local soft drinks poured from bottles so can be a little flat. All drinks are served in tiny glasses/paper cups, some people had taken their own (pint) glass out with them and the bar staff did fill them. The entertainment wasn't our cup of tea - karaoke, quiz, live music, drag show. unfortunately it was too chilly to sit outside so we were confined to drinking in the lobby where the entertainment was on, so we were largely subjected to

Massive hotel with 618 rooms, fresh and sea water pools and its own beach. Stayed here for two nights at the end of a small-group tour of Tunisia. Friendly helpful staff. Large rooms with all mod cons. Huge choice of food at breakfast and (buffet) dinner.

Hotel very well located clean very well maintained Single and valuable breakfast However the rooms are difficult to access with a wheelchair or a wheelchair A take available below the TV and one in the bathroom. It's regrettable if we have several phones to load The climate is fixed in advance it was impossible to lower the climate that being very strong we were forced to shut it off.

While a bit difficult to find within the medina's winding streets, the hotel is a lovely, hidden gem that both me and my father loved. You're greeted by the lovely owner with two small kittens that are just adorable. Our room was well furnished, air conditioned and had a very clean bathroom. The roof terrace offers a great view of the Sousse skyline and Medina and is perfect at night to enjoy the call to prayers. Breakfast was served in the main court area of the hotel. Very nicely decorated and the breakfast was very traditional. Nothing too heavy, but still filling nonetheless. You know care and love went into making it.
Sousse City and Beach Hotel

The hotel is close to the sea and the ancient city of Sousse. The transportation is convenient, the access is very convenient, the room rate is cheap, and a dinner is included, but the room facilities are very old, the toilet has no threshold, the water is easy to overflow, and there is no quilt on the bed. Sleeping is very cold at night.
