First Camp Solvik-Kungshamn

Bad bed and the cleaning was not up to the standards. Not ok when we're paying these prices just because they can take them. Then I expect so much more. Couldn't be happier to go to a hotel for the next few days.

Great place near to Smogen and other coastal villages. We had one of the cabins right by the waters edge with a deck outside which was great for sitting on and having meals . The only slight downside of the cabin was the very steep ladder to get to the two beds in the loft and also the internal living area was a bit small - we had great weather so could sit outside but with a family inside it would be a bit cramped downstairs - id probably rent one of the slightly bigger cabins next door in that case. Reception was helpful, there is a shop. Mini golf outdoor play areas inc football pitch. Lovely swimming spots from the rocks 5 mins easy walk away. Smogen is a short drive or bike ride away and is lovely for strolling around and has some great walks round it’s various headlands.

The campsite was very beautiful. The cottage was sober, but equipped with everything. The staff was extremely friendly. So a warm welcome to us. The surroundings of the campsite are beautiful, actually 4 days was not enough to experience all the beauty of Kungshamn.

I think the camp is overall nice but We have to consider our own experience which was not good. At arrival our toilet had no flush button, and our shower was broken. As soon as we flushed a brown liquid came spraying out of the shower and no water was moving. We told this to the staff, several days in a row and no plumber came until the evening of our last day. We were offered no compensation and everyone seemed confused of where our 4 complaints went. I don’t like being the angry complainer so I accepted that this was not going anywhere and made peace with showering elsewhere. Most of the people working there are young, and I can imagine not very experienced with customer service. They seemed very nice. We weren’t expecting a 5-star hotel, but we did pay to have a functioning shower. The button issue was compensated with a free round of miniature golf, which we never used. The service houses where we had to resort to showering were very good. Clean and spacious. The playground was fun for the kids. This camp site feels a bit cursed with all its water problems, if only they could fix the basics it would have been a 5/5.
