The best thing going for it is the fab location in the centre of Sorrento. The rest was rather disappointing. It’s surprising it’s a 4* hotel. We didn’t bother with the breakfast most days as it was so bad. Not at all appropriate for anyone with intolerances/dietary requirements. The breakfast member of staff was regularly grumpy and rude to the customers. There were a few days the shower gel wasn’t topped up although the hotel advertises toiletries so we were left short a couple of days unfortunately. By the time you realise, it’s too late to ask staff. The doors are ridiculously noisy. They slam shut and don’t actually shut properly. The people staying in rooms next to us had to slam 3-5 times each time they left the room to ensure it locked. This woke us up multiple times each morning. The walls are also thin. I could hear the room next door blow their nose, walk down the corridor and talking. We left our 1 week holiday which was supposed to be relaxing, absolutely knackered and desperate to catch up on sleep/get a decent night sleep. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend the hotel

Elena and Viviano were very friendly and helpful The hotel itself was very difficult to find. We were dropped off a 1/4 mile from the hotel, and had to drag our luggage up cobblestone streets We found the hotel finally, but there was no doorway to get in! We had to ask numerous people how to get to the entrance, which was in the alley, up the stairs to the back of the building. Hard to find. They had a one person elevator, not even big enough for 3 pieces of luggage! Our room was on the third floor. The elevator stopped at the second floor floor, and we had to drag our luggage up the steps Not convenient for the handicapped, or tired tourists

The hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of the city centre! Very close to harbour, beach, train station and restaurants! Location Location Location! We stayed in a classic double spacious bed was large bathroom was very nice and very clean! Rooftop terrace is perfect to relax after day trips, view from top is amazing! However the pool is much smaller than it looks in the pictures! Breakfast waw nice with a reasonable selection of foods both sweet and savoury. One small issue we did receive shower gels and shampoo on 1st day but none after that. No main bar in the hotel there is one at the pool. Overall I would highly recommend this place for a Sorrento stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our six nights here. The hotel is practically at ground zero of Sorrento, just half a block from the main square. Our room was large with high ceilings and a very long and deep soaking bathtub, which was great for all the walking and ferry-riding we did. The kicker is the rooftop pool, small but extremely welcome on hot summer days. They serve drinks up there, too, and you can kick back on the lounge chairs and take in the view of the Bay of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius and the city of Naples in the distance. Only one criticism: Our bed was actually two twins side-by-side, and it didn't take much for them to drift apart and create a crevasse between the two mattresses. Hope they replace it with a king or queen bed!

We stayed 5 nights here and given the fact that we were out and about every day it was perfect for us. The breakfast was delicious every morning… plenty of variety and the service team was very friendly. Front desk people very helpful … even going so far as to heat up leftovers we had one night when we were too tired to go out! Room was a good size … Cleaned daily. Small balcony off the room. Was not luxurious at all but it did exactly what we needed. Very close to Main Street area and a short walk to beach clubs … down the steep steps but totally doable and there is a lift for anyone who can’t. (Approx 1.5 euros each way) They did over represent the pool. It’s basically a large hot tub but it did what we needed it to do after a long day! Not good for little kids who want to splash and play. Great sundeck and lounge chairs. Snacks and bar and views were pretty! I would stay there again! Grazie mille!

The hotel is centrally located close to all that Sorrento has to offer, places of interest, bars, restaurants, shopping etc. A warm welcome awaits the traveler and staff throughout the hotel is exceptional, professional, friendly and always helpful. Views from the rooftop are wonderful, there is small pool, a bar and plenty of place to lap us the sun rays & relax. We booked a four night stay in a superior room which was perfectly clean on the second floor but small with views on to a roof top with overgrown weeds - not ideal. Furthermore it overlooked a laneway which was noisey both early morning and late evening. Breakfast is in the basement restaurant and offers a reasonably good selection of hot and cold options. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I have just returned from Southern Italy. Spent 4 nights at the Palazzo Guardati hotel and it was delightful. The hotel was spotless, the staff (a shout out to Daniele) were great. I was with a small group which had been changed from a large group hotel outside of Sorrento to the hotel. The location was excellent, My room, 113 on 1st floor was right over the alley and we were there on a Friday and Saturday night - No noise even when I opened the doors to the street. We could walk everywhere which was great for exploring Sorrento. Yes, it's fine to have a room with a view if all you want to do is sit and look at the view but for sightseeing and exploring Sorrento, this hotel could not be better , Great little restaurants close by, even in the alley. The small niggly complaints from other reviews surprised me. The breakfast room is small, and yes they did ask us to all arrive at a particular time, but made sure it fitted in with our activities and the breakfast was great. Italians do not eat large "American Breakfasts" ("when in Rome") and having guided in Italy for years when hotels only supplied Italian breakfasts, it was great to now see most hotels cater to American and other Western countries. Bacon, sausage, eggs, yoghurt, fruit etc. I really do not understand what else people want. I would go back to Palazzo Guardati again and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to stay in the heart of Sorrento in a small, beautiful boutique hotel.

I wish I had read the reviews on trip advisor prior to booking, hotel left much to be desired and staff was less than welcoming or helpful with any request. Breakfast needed to be scheduled ahead of time which was fine but better food is to be found out in the city center. The location makes the stay worth it but much like other reviews say, unsure how it is considered a 4 star hotel.
