Positive points: this hotel has some of the best views as it is quite high up away from Sorrento, (at least a 35 minute walk into town), clean, very quiet and tranquil with friendly staff. It has a swimming pool, but as with most Italian pools it isn’t heated and in October I wasn’t keen to use it as it’s too cold, which for me was disappointing. It has a regular shuttle bus service, every hour, except around lunchtime, for getting back and forth into Sorrento. Negative points: our room was a little tired and in need of some TLC and upgrading. After a downpour of rain one morning, water flooded under the balcony doors into the room. Our room was sparse, dull and had nothing in the way of those little extras that we’ve come to except, like tea/coffee making facilities or even a kettle, and no tissues…had to use the toilet roll. Their room service charged and extra €5 and when I was I’ll one day, and had to stay in my room all day, I wanted some tea bought to me, this did not impress me at all. Worst of all was the food. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such bad food ever in any holiday hotel in my whole life. At Breakfast we had very little choice, and the evening meals, if you were on the half board basis, were just dreadful. If you were eating a La Carte it seemed you got a better standard all round, including the plates it was served up on. We felt like second class citizens sitting next to those who were eating a La Carte! We even had to make our choices at breakfast time, when you really didn’t need that at 7 o’ clock in the morning. The best thing about the restaurant was the waiter, Tony, who was a complete clown, and he made everyone laugh 😂…maybe he was put there to take our minds off the food…lol Overall our experience was very average, beautiful views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, but I wouldn’t recommend it purely on the quality of the food alone.
