Casa Laura Sorrento

Overall I would recommend it as a budget option. Just make sure you know how to enter the building & how to find the reception. We booked about 3 days in advance and arrived around 2pm on the day. Haven’t received a message beforehand to explain how to enter the building (they need to give you a code for each door). There was no bell to Casa Laura, only a huge amount of other bells. We messaged the host and the person who was messaging us back only spoke Italian. Eventually someone was entering the building so we took a chance. There was also no explanation inside the building of how to find the reception. Eventually again - someone was leaving and told us. There’s another hotel/ apartment name next to Casa Laura on the wall of the building outside (call that other one!), we later found out it was the same company. Only they didn’t let ppl know. The room was clean and nice for what we paid. One of the plugs didn’t work, my friend plugged hair dryer and couldn’t pull it out so just left it there. The dryer was cold air only btw. The door to the room was broken so we had slight issues opening them each time. We always did eventually, but still, why not just fix it? No kettle in the room, no coffee (that’s an Italian thing tho, same in other hotels). No breakfast included for us so there’s a restaurant downstairs on the street as you exit the building, run by a couple who owns the rooms too. They are very nice. You get your breakfast there and pay no more than E5.

BEWARE! This place is the absolute worst, they are deceptive and not empathetic at all. I have travelled quite extensively and I have never had to leave an accommodation early until now. Short version, the bathroom had mold as you’ll see in the photos and videos, the hotel refused to refund me a single dime when I stated my desire to leave and I had to leave anyways losing all the money I put into my four nights there plus the city tax fee they refused to refund as well. Longer version, after stating that I had mold in the restroom the receptionist Laura lied to my face and told me that what the bathroom had was not mold despite the photos and videos I showed her, she was not empathetic at all and I felt she was quite rude and dismissive of my concerns. She offered to switch our rooms which I agreed to before we left to the amalfi coast for the day where we would be out of cell service for most of the day. The hotel messaged me via the booking app asking me to confirm that I wanted to switch rooms when they knew I wouldn’t have service, and they told me I had less than two hours to respond in order to have our rooms switched. Naturally I didn’t respond, when I got back we still had the same room and they cleaned up the bathroom but it STILL had mold and they simply painted over the black mold on the ceiling YUCK! We got on the phone with booking and got a new place to stay for the remaining three nights. These crooks took not only our money for the reservation but they also charged us the city fee for all 4 nights despite our only staying there one night. I don’t wish bad on anyone so for that reason I hope you think twice before booking with this establishment.
