Hotel Alda Ciudad de Soria

This hotel was marvellous! Steady on and bear in mind that we never stay at posh hotels. This is not a super luxurious posh hotel, but it suited me down to the ground. I had a fabulous time. We were on a road trip through France to northern Spain and made very brief stops on the way. This our best stop. On a very cold wet night, in November, the radiators rooms and hot water or scalding hot. I loved it!!!! (You might think that heat etc is normal in hotels, but it isn’t, and in fact they often don’t have any heating in operation and you spend a very unpleasant cold time.) The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The staff are wonderfully efficient and pleasant. We had breakfast in the beautiful kitchen area you see in the photos. Breakfast was lots of coffee and fresh bread and cakes, cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc The mediaeval city it’s only 15 minutes or so away from the hotel. Any visitors from benighted Britain or other northern European countries, might like to check out the glorious alcohol aisles in Mercadona, across the road. We bought cases of cremante for a few pounds a bottle. Are there excellent wines too! Don’t you LOVE Spain and France??!!!

We found what we were looking for. A safe ,quiet overnight stop. secure parking was good at 6 euros per night across the road fro hotel.
