Sorell Barracks

The rooms were immaculate . Beautiful and warm due to the thick walls . Gorgeous period fit out . Couldn’t ask for anything more comfortable . 10 out of 10 easily . Amazing .

Beautiful old buildings offering a range of accommodations that are warm, cosy, and have all the modern conveniences. Terry & Lynn are wonderful hosts that communicate very well with guests. Very clean. Quiet. Carpark steps away from the accommodation. Excellent location to Hobart airport and exploring the surrounding area.

Gorgeous little loft clean cozy we where so happy with this place . Wished we had found it earlier in our trip. So near the airport felt privileged to stay in such a historic building, nice renovation gave us lots of ideas for our future renos. Would go back in a minute. Owners have put a lot of thought into their guests' comfort Thankyou made our last day such a pleasure.

Just fantastic! In awe of the history! Loved the cosines- i fully understand the meaning of that word. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Just putting it out there, has anyone else seen the man? I was outside and saw a man wakk right in front of the windows to the corner where he turned and left.

Do not pass this place by, it was just lovely, checking in was simple and the accommodations was just what I expected, beautifully quaint and well maintained. I thought I had stepped back in time. Plus the beds were very comfy and had all the amenities needed. The town is a short walk and it was very peaceful, just what we needed after driving the East Coast of Tasmania. Thank you for allowing me to feel a part of history.

Opened the door and faced a set of steep stairs with no hand rail. I would not like to carry a big bag up them and certainly not down. The room was in the roof so the ceiling was low with plenty of things to bang your head on. Overall the place needs decorating as it is very run down and past it best. However, whilst you could try to cover over some of the problems by saying it’s an old building and we are try to keep things in the style of the building, you cannot excuse the fact that the room needed a good clean. The bedside table was thick with dust, the bathroom had a layer of thick dust, the table in the “kitchen” section had food over it. When you are running a business you need to put some effort in. The only saving grace was that the shower was good. Would not return.
