Rating is Good. Receptionist seemed scared of customers. Whispers when talking and lack of basic courtesy. Maybe because she was too young and unexperienced. Language was a problem: “Is there an elevator/lift?” In both English and German was not understood. Location is perfect, in old city centre but in pedestrian area. No direct access by car. Small parking was full. Closest parking approx 300 m away. No elevator in hotel. Room had enough space and was clean. Good wifi and power socket at bed head end, to charge your mobile. Air conditioning had been limited and could not cope. There was smell of cigaret smoke while our window was closed (via a/c?). Bathroom has too little space for storing your stuff. Bit outdated. Breakfast was complete and ok but not memorable. Fruit juices were fake and overly sweetened. Serving real apple and orange juices will not cost the world and will make your customers much more happy.

Very nice hotel, very nice and helpful staff, and Sopron is the last middle age citadel in the European Pusta. The breakfast was very good, trying to accommodate all tastes and culinary necessities. The only thing is that in Sopron there are not too many restaurants to eat, but plenty of bars, pubs, places to drink and bar menus. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 7:30 and it was no restaurant open. We ended up in a pub and had a salad, which wasn't that great but the atmosphere was very nice and we enjoyed the place a lot.

We stayed here for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on our second night as it is closed on Mondays. The room is exactly as shown on the website-large, comfortable and clean. We also had a balcony (room 2). The food we had in the restaurant was just delicious-see the photos. My husband had the goose liver with orange/fig chutney and said it was the best meal he has ever eaten. Gyula (the owner) is very knowledgeable about wine and has a recommendation to go with all choices, he also brought us out some wines to taste-all from local vineyards-and all were very good. We each had three courses (plus Gyula brought us out a taste of his favourite dish-the deer goulash) plus rather a lot of wine, and a palinka (courtesy of Gyula) and it was excellent value. It is so nice to be in a place where the owners (Gyula's wife is the chef) are passionate about what they do.Not sure when we will be back in Hungary but a trip here will definitely be on our list. Very generous host. I wrote this review October 2018 but stupidly forgot to tick the terms and conditions box, hence the late post! Actually, we will be returning later this year.
