Parkhotel Holzner

One of the great hotels, with excellent accomodation, great food and a stunning setting. This location is so good that you can visit Bolzano in 12 minutes or climb the Rittner Horn in a morning. Also there endless other attractions in this area. Overall there are many reasons to visit this hotel and it is great for any age group.

We visited this hotel at the end of april for 8 nights and had a great welcome by the wonderfull staff. Together with our 2 children we had a magnificent experience at Holzner. Children daycare available with nice activities, michelin star awarded restaurant, indoor and outdoor heated pool with mountain. We will be back next year! Thanks to the wonderfull Holzner team! My husband and I stayed three nights in a park junior suite with the half board option. Our experience was exceptional throughout our stay. The grounds are inviting, the location perfect for taking the arial tram ( Funivia del Renon) to Bolzano for the day and taking the Rittner train and bus to the Rittnerhorn. Our spacious room located next to the gardens opened up to a private outdoor sitting area. The room was comfortable and spacious with a good indoor sitting area facing the sliding glass door. We appreciated that the room included umbrellas, water bottles and a day backpack for hiking and the hotel provides a local transportation pass for the duration of the stay. We are especially glad we did the half board option and enjoyed dining on the patio for most meals. The dinners are expertly prepared and the halfboard menu includes three options off of each course. The staff is excellent. On the grounds we enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool which are connected and walking the grounds. For those with children the resort is very kid friendly.

I decided to book at the Parkhotel Holzner after visiting the bar in December 2021 and being impressed with the ambience. I stayed for 5 nights and found the half board price to be very reasonable (likely due to the time of year) considering the quality of the hotel and the incredible food. The staff was very welcoming and had my room ready early. It included a complimentary reusable water bottle and hiking backpack to use during the stay, plus two apples (South Tyrol is known for them). The view from the room (20) was incredible - overlooking the hotel grounds and the mountains. The design was quaint, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom serviceable (I would love a larger shower but it was good enough). The dinners were great, with a new menu each day consisting of local and seasonal dishes. If you're not the type to want to sit down for a 3-course meal each night, then maybe just opt for the bed and breakfast, but for me the food was well worth it. Good wine selection, also with the option of beer or apple juice. The salad bar was a highlight. Breakfast was also abundant and included eggs cooked to order. Parking was free. Keep in mind that the cable car up from Bolzano only takes 12 minutes and runs every 4, while driving up the mountain took more like 25-30 and was a bit arduous. I am glad I rented a car since I wanted to explore outside of Bolzano, but if you're mostly interested in visiting Bolzano and other towns, I would skip the car and go with public transportation. Overall, I can't say enough good things about the Parkhotel Holzner and its staff. I hope to visit again.

My family (with young children) had the BEST time at this hotel. Not only is it perfectly situated above Bolzano but it is truly a family hotel where we felt welcomed and cared for. Everything was thought of: a bouncer for the baby, potty training seat for the toddler. The room was modern and extremely comfortable, maybe the biggest family room I’ve seen in Italy! The breakfasts were amazing and the dinners were creative and delicious. Anita at the spa was so good my partner and I booked twice each during our stay. The pool area with sauna was wonderful and the extra spaces for families around the hotel was so unexpected. I already want to plan another trip there.
