This place is full of Creepers. The gm is the leader of the pack. He is beyond creepy touchy feely and just way over the top. was hovering around us during our stay non stop to the point we didn't have any privacy. Upon arriving this gm helped us unload our truck along with other staff. at the time we did not know he was the gm. we gave him some cash for helping us unload and i watched him pocket it all and share nothing with employees. I then watch another guest vehicle come through the front drive. when these guest went inside to check in i watched this "gm" go through their car looking at documents and passports that were sitting center cup holders and not handed to him. he then continued to snoop through the car. Imagine what he does in the guest rooms! i was told this place is a family place. That couldn't be more of a lie because they knowingly hire sexual predators! stay away!

Top notch!!! My husband and I love this place, we just can’t say enough about it!!! Our second stay this year and looking forward to our next trip back. It’s so beautiful, relaxing and peaceful!! Employees made you feel like family. Everything was absolutely perfect and we highly recommend!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hard to describe just how good this Ranch and destination is! You are welcomed with open arms from the minute you check-in at the security gate right up to departure. Even though we were told there were quite a few other guests on the property it felt like we were the only ones there during our stay of 4 nights. The staff are brilliant. They are very kind and patient and we found that this was even more evident when dealing with our 8 and 13 year olds. The property is visually stunning, the lodge and dining areas are grand in scale but very intimate and relaxing at the same time. The activities are well planned and physically spaced around the property to again make you feel like you are the only ones at the Ranch! The staff were safe, informative and 100% experts in their field. Food was excellent at both the cafe and restaurant. Drink options and cocktails were terrific - perhaps a little light on some of the wines but I was told they were in the transition and resupply. Mezcal was scarce so if anything maybe adding a bottle or two to the bar would help for those non tequila drinkers! The rooms were large, very comfortable, tastefully decorated and again very private. Our only suggestion would be to include slippers alongside the dressing gowns in the room. The pool and recreation areas are again very well planned and comfortable. We will return to this Ranch. I cannot wait to experience it all again in the near future!

My wife and I stayed at the JL Bar Ranch for the first time for a weekend celebration for my birthday. It was a fabulous experience. Overall, the resort if self-contained with plenty of activities to appeal to both active and relaxed lifestyles. Great to be able to get a facial in the morning, target practice at the pistal range before lunch, enjoy skeet shooting with the wife in the afternoon and conclude the day with an awesome private dinner in the Wine Cellar. I was very intrigued with the long-range sniper style target range. Very unique. Would definitely like to return someday with a few friends to experience it. Overall, the resort allowed for both quiet, tranquil relaxation and energetic activities. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing time! I can't say enough about the staff, not only friendly but happy to help in any way possible. So many activities to choose from and then when coupled with quiet time at the pool it really makes for a special vacation. Food is outstanding, not a meal we didn't enjoy. Definitely a place you don't want to miss, book it and enjoy!

I booked a trip to Jl bar ranch after reading several killer reviews online. I wanted to bring my avid hunter husband and are twin boys on a better than average spring break trip, not the Hawaii or skiing everyone else in CA does. When we arrived at your ranch we were taken away but the beauty of the grounds and the cool cabins. After settling headed to the pool where we went to get some drinks and that’s where it went south. The bar tender was not friendly. Later, I went to get a drink for myself(dirty martini, a different bartender was there. I tried to engage him in conversation and quickly realized that was not happening so I waited for my drink. My drink was sooo dirty I couldn’t drink it so I lightly made a joke it tasted like lake water so maybe he would help to fix it but just got a stare. So I said just pour the ice in it and then maybe I could drink it. As I returned to pool to sit with my twin boys. I noticed trash blowing around the pool as well as tons of empty glasses that had not been picked up. I asked my kids to help me pick up some of the trash so it didn’t go in pool as we left. Later, we headed to the beautiful dinner area. We sat and I scanned the wine list and headed to the bar to try the 2 cabs on the menu. I asked and he said what cabs and I said the ones on the menu. He said yeah, we don’t have those. I said well ok what do you, bothered as he was he turned and pulled them out and these. I did not want to upset him further to try so I got one and headed back to the table. On my way I saw the nice cured meats and cheeses. I then asked our server, how do I get cheese, is there a separate menu? She said thats a special order only from front desk. I was definitely bummed out but went back to table to wait for drink and food. Glass sat on bar for at least 15 minutes so I retrieved myself. The food was good but the service was sub par. At this point, I was pretty disappointed as I expected great service for a 5 star resort with such great reviews. It was not until my husband came to me and said I can’t not believe how bad the service is that I admitted it was. We felt like a major inconvenience to the staff and it felt terrible. I am not sure if this was off season or what but we decided that it was not worth our whole trip to be treated like this. Therefore, we left tues afternoon unfortunately. I went to the front desk and luckily talked to a very kind manager name Deanna. She was very apologetic and was glad that I came to her to explain why we were leaving. She did not charge us for our upcoming activities but said we had to pay for the remainder of our stay. I wrote a email to gm to not only to make him aware of our experience staff wise but in hopes he might refund the 2 remaining nights we did not stay and had to pay elsewhere. But had no luck and said it was non refundable.
