Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel

This is a 2 star hotel, or at least, very far from a five star hotel. It stared already at check in. No other word for it than chaos. We were a group of 11 golfers, and when we arrived we were the only guests in reception. Still it took more than 1/2 hour to get everybody a room. Upon entering the room we realized they've put us in a double room. Not too keen on spending the night in the same bed, we asked for another room, or at least, change the bed(s) so to make it a twin. The person helping us with the bags promised to convey this to the hotel administration. Nothing happened, so in the evening we asked the same of the personell in the reception, and we were met with a shoulder shrug like it wasn't their problem. So no surprise nothing happened that night. Next day, a new request to reception, and . ..nothing happened. Spent the next 5 days in a double bed. It's not like we asked for much, the base was made up in two parts, so the only thing missing was two madrases to make it a twin room. Breakfast was a disappointment, worth 2 stars. Transport. The hotel offered free transport to the golf course, unfortunately it was rather unpleasant due to a very aggressive driving style. Not the best start on a day for golf in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Taxi. Maybe not the hotels responsibility, but since the taxis on a couple of occasion turned up 1/2 hour late, one would expect some of the staff to show some initiative, like contacting the taxi company for an updated arrival time and maybe, ask us to wait inside with a drink rather than having us standing outside not knowing what was happening. In general, the hotel is understaffed and the staff lacks training to offer the service expected in a 5 star hotel.

Absolutely lovely hotel by Son Vida golf course. We used a family room with twin beds and a sofa bed -- there was plenty of space for all three of us (couple and a child). The room was clean and equipped with everything you'd normally find in a proper 5* hotel. The mattresses are a bit on the firm side and the pillows very very soft, but for a few days one could adjust to them. The outdoor pool area is stunning and very well maintained. There's always a lifeguard on site, sometimes even two, supervising both the outdoor and the indoor pools. The sauna is great and very hot. I also really enjoyed the breakfast here -- very good quality food, good diversity .. particularly the fruits, the breads. They have a juicing machine and you can make your own fruits/veggie juice in the morning. The staff, all around, are great -- polite and helpful (not to forget multilingual). Thank you all for a beautiful stay! We look forward to returning soon!

Hotel was nice and pool area nice but nothing special and this does not feel 5 star it feels much more like a 3/4 star hotel. No shuttlebus into town. Breakfast was definitely not 5 star it was more 3 star as the hot selection was buffet style tomatoes, beans, rubbery egg and greasy bacon, then a poor selection of cold food. We ordered a taxi which did not arrive and girl on reception (glasses with brown hair) just kept saying its nothing to do with hotel if a taxi does not arrive, very rude and unhelpful. Will definitely not be staying again as much better hotels around.

Positively surprised by the hotel. Very well located (close to Palma) and in a nice surrounding with a beautiful golf (very much green), and even being a non golf player, was appreciated. The staff is very welcoming and took care of any needs throughout the stay. The pool is amazing and there are several ones which fits different needs, the spa is fair although the inside pool is a bit cold. The hotel is nice but the rooms could need some revamping. The restaurants are good but the service is very slow and faulty from time to time which is a pity. There were tons of bees and that was therefore difficult to eat outside. That should be solved as the terasse is very nice. The breakfast is the weak point and should be upgraded, the quality there is not at a five star level at all. A few days there is the right length, family and pet friendly
