Cape Vermeer

My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days staying at Cape Vermeer. This B&B is in a beautiful and peaceful suburban neighborhood, in close proximity to the attractions of the southwestern Cape, including Cape Town and the whole Cape peninsula, wine country (Stellenbosch and Frranschoek) and beautiful beaches (Strand). The facilities and service are absolutely first class. The views from our room, which was very modern, spacious and in brand new condition, were stunning. Richard Schuurman, the owner, is an impeccable host and very enjoyable company. He volunteered to recommend and book places to visit, including superb wineries and world class restaurants. He made arrangements for a driver to take my wife touring and shopping while I enjoyed a mountain biking tour in the spectacular scenery of the Stellenbosch mountains. Every morning we were served an incredible breakfast, customized to our wishes. Richard and his wonderful staff’s attentiveness was unparalleled; better than any international class 5-star hotel that we’ve stayed in. We cannot recommend Cape Vermeer highly enough. Our stay at the hotel with Richard and his staff made a wonderful vacation an even more awesome experience.

Beautiful views and 5 star service is what we got at Cape Vermeer. Set up on a hill and in a quiet area it gives guests time to relax, swim and take in the scenery. The breakfast is out of this world with bread/croissants, yoghurt, fruit and home made granola served in a picnic hamper to your table and then you also have an option of a cooked breakfast. Thank you Richard and team for making our stay very special

The place was immaculate.. the cleaniness and beauty of the garden was unmatched. The room: Very comfortable (especially the bed was super comfy), clean, spacious, with good amenities. Breakfast was very detailed, fine & enjoyable. Location was perfect, we played golf at De Zalze, and visted some Stelenbosch wineries at very close distances. Service was perfect at this guest house. Richard was very helpful and resourceful for recommendations around the area . Highly recommend this place .

Cape Vermeer is the best guesthouse we have visited so far in the Cape. The rooms are very neat and spacious. The breakfast is out of range with every day a special egg suggestion. Stayed at this no.1 Guesthouse in Somerset-West already a couple of times before. From the very 1st warm welcome by Richard we had an amazing time and stay. This time in the “Cape Vermeer suite”. In one word: WOW! What an amazing apartment/room with everything in it you are looking for. Very luxury equipped and large room with a lovely bed, a separate large bathroom with both shower and bath. A private balcony overlooking both Strand and the Hottentot-mountains. Very nice colors used like in the other rooms of this Guesthouse. Love your Lemon Verbena products from Healing Earth, such a fresh smell. It was the TOP location of our holidays in the Cape-region. We loved the breakfast with the short daily printed info (photo) with it. You deserve definitely your 5-star rating. Thank you Richard & Bart for again a wonderful stay at yours.
