The wonderful place Solvorn is close to the fjord. Walaker hotell is almost incredible to deskribe♥️ Old historic hotell, very nice and helpful stuff. The food : Breakfast is delicious and served in a cosy harmonic room. Dinner is difficult to find a good enough word for.

This hotel exudes craftsmanship - there is real attention to detail, whether that is the beautiful garden, the delicious breakfasts and dinners or the way in which staff interact with the guests. The history is amazing and the little post dinner tour with the owner is a highlight.

An absolutely charming stay. We’re touring around Scandinavia on our motorbikes, and from the moment we arrived we were so well looked after by all the staff who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and very comfortable and the food was excellent. The treat was having a history tour of the hotel by the owner (in the Wallaker family for nine generations) - the passion for the place is palpable. I also had a lovely gardening chat with Astrid Wallaker, whilst she was tending the plants. All this coupled with a visit to the staves church at Urnes and a hike up Molden for a stunning view of the fjord. What an amazing place for us to spend the summer solstice!

We only ate in the restaurant. They have one sitting, at 7.30, and a prix fixe menu. Everything absolutely superb, imaginative, locally sourced produce, and took good and thoughtful care of our dietary needs. One leaves feeling that this is a meal of a lifetime. The maitre d'hotel, Liene, and the chef were thoughtful, kind, and personable. Thank you!

This hotel is an absolute gem and is not to be missed if in the area. Great food , great staff and quietness as far as u can hear. The stave church of Urnes just across the fjord is worth a trip in itself too. The combination is unforgettable. Thank i for being there and for beeing such perfect hosts.

Walaker Hotell is truly a special place. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect launching point for various activities in the Lustrafjord area. Additionally, Solvorn is incredibly idyllic and looks like a painting except it’s real life. We stayed in room 20, which had an amazing view of the fjord. We opted to book the 4 course dinner each night and it was worth every single penny. The food was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. And most of all everything we ate tasted incredible. I also appreciated how you could choose certain wines off the wine pairing menu, rather than having to get some wines that aren’t as preferable. The breakfast selection was wonderful as well. There was the option of ordering some hot dishes in addition to the buffet. My husband and I stay at many luxury properties and the service from everyone at the front desk to the restaurant staff were 5 star worthy. Everyone we encountered were incredibly kind and helpful. My advice is to skip the touristy fjord towns and stay at the Walaker Hotell for an authentic and unique Norwegian experience.

Old world charm and service. Oldest hotel in service in Norway. No TVs but great WiFi. Rooms very comfy ; excellent breakfasts and dinners. The village of Solvorn is picture perfect and the hotel has magnificent views of the fjord. A bit out of the way to get to but worth the trip! Would definitely return to this charming little village.

The Walaker Hotel is beautiful. After a c 4 hour drive from Bergen I was greeted and immediately felt rested. The hotel is calm, historic and comforting. The service is excellent. I enjoyed the four course dinner which was superb (turnip soup, cod, veal and crème brûlée) and excellent paired wines. My room was in the old annexe - spotlessly clean, neatly furnished and resonant of a different time, yet sufficiently modern. And no TV thank goodness. Will be back, certainly.
