Not as expected, shower very tiny opening so larger people struggle. Bedding ripped! Staff were amazing tho, very friendly and welcoming.

Avoid if you want a good night’s sleep. Stayed in a room immediately above a private function with LOUD LOUD music until past midnight. Even ear plugs didn’t deaden the noise. No evening meal being served on arrival; shower in room looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for a year. Under-management staff arrogant and dismissive. Visit a lot of hotels; this choice was one of my worst. You have been warned!

We stopped off for Sunday Lunch at this beautiful place. The interior and exterior was great and the Sunday lunch was delicious! What let the place down was front of house manager who clearly was having a "bad day". You could overhear conversations not for customers ears and if you asked for anything, it seemed too much trouble. It just came across rude. The rest of the staff were perfectly polite and welcoming.

Went here today for Sunday dinner with wife and baby. The baby change facilities were disgusting with sink hanging off the wall and nappy/sanitary bins overflowing. Staff were very poorly trained if at all. Food came out very fast but was all freezing cold like had been left in fridge pre-prepared and nuked for 30 seconds twice we complained about the temperature of the food still to be exchanged with just as cold food. Pork belly was just belly and no pork. Turkey must have been presliced from a packet as looked processed like packet ham. Staff didn’t know how to deal with the situation. Would’ve been better off going to a food bank I’d imagine it would’ve been served with more love. Don’t waste your time or your money.

I recently enjoyed a evening out with my husband at Hockley House for a meal . The bar and restaurant are lovely . Very clean . The front of house Manger greeted us with a smile and eye contact and made us very welcome when showing us to our table . She was very well dressed and professional and made sure throughout our evening we were looked after . You don't receive service like that very often . We will definitely go back .

Seeing some of the reviews after I stopped, may have put me off, however...let's put a few things into perspective. I was only doing a one night stay, the room was around £40-£50 cheaper than other accommodation I stay at in the area. I have stayed in worse places and paid more. I had a standard double room which was clean quite possibly recently painted, well away from the function room so quiet. Yes there was a little noise from adjoining rooms but certainly no more than you would get in the likes of big chains like TL and PI. The bed was comfortable and clean so no issues here. The night we stayed they had three team members visible covering the bar and restaurant as well as reception. We were uncertain whether the bell was working, until we later sat in the bar and heard how annoying it was for the team when it was pressed repeatedly (sorry guys) Luke was friendly and helpful and the bar staff likewise. The only downside for us was down to a group of other customers who after eating their whole meal complained. In fairness been close enough to hear what was going on I thought the resolution was fair, but they got louder and more obnoxious towards the staff who remained calm and polite throughout. Even to the extent of apologising to other customers for the disruption. So for us, the friendly welcome pleasant evening and value for money scores this a top mark...

Having had a less than pleasant experience at a UK budget chain hotel, when we were on a road trip leading us back to Hockley Heath for an NEC exhibition, we decided to cancel the chain and rebook here due to the death of the restaurant at the chain. This hotel was a wonderful alternative - which by the way was 37% cheaper for two nights. Apparently it has changed hands and is trying (successfully) to up its game. Suffice it to say we won't ever be staying in the chain when visiting the NEC, but WILL return. As I mentioned our trip was part of a road trip from home, stop off at Harrogate, two days with friends near Edinburgh then back to Hockley Heath. At the end of a 7 hour trip (with stops) the last thing you want to do is to go on a meal search. This seemed to have an acceptable enough menu. We arrived about 1730 and found a newly decorated site, and a room with a bit more character than a chain (including a 6ft wide bed). The room was certainly acceptable, with what proved to be a very powerful shower, and all that you expect from those facilities. After relaxing for a while we went to have a drink and get dinner. As mentioned above, the menu was good enough, my wife had pork belly on mash with green beans and broccoli, whilst I had a medium rare 8oz sirloin with chips, onion rings, tomato & mushroom. Well, it was obvious when the food appeared that this had been prepared with care and attention by a proud chef. It was a revelation. Additionally, Courtney (front of house) has a wonderful cheerful but respectful disposition and was obviously proud of what she was doing. Two pints of Cornwall's best Doom Bar were great , and the whole lot was only less than £45! We don't breakfast, but on return after a day at the NEC, crashed before going to the restaurant for more Doom Bar, and another look at the menu, which this time included a weekly (Tuesday-Saturday) specials sheet as well as the pizzas. We both opted for pizza but there were many options. Lovely home made pizza went down well, and Courtney was at her appropriately attentive best. Apparently there has been a change of management, and the place is on the up. From our experience give them a try. We will most certainly return!

Really easy to get to, plenty of parking, good food and a decent bar that isn’t unreasonable in terms of pricing. Rooms are decent too, also worth mentioning Rachel on reception who is always helpful when I stay there and is the main reason I go to Hockley House when I am working at NEC. Brad the magician definitely recommends Hockley House and Rachel!!!
