Ibis Birmingham Airport - NEC

A word of caution. My issue was resolved favourably but my advice is to check the reservation and ask the questions. The ibis Birmingham Airport has 2 levels of accommodation at the same location. I booked and paid for the Ibis through Trip. On arrival I was told the Trip had made my reservation in Ibis Budget. The concierge told me me there was nothing he could do. I would have to take it up with the booking agent, Trip. I accepted the room ( I have stayed here before in ibis Budget, I knew what to expect. Perfectly adequate for an early morning departure.) My disappointment was that I had booked and paid for the higher end accommodation on this occasion. Needless to say, I contacted customer support services and after sometime and various explanations and photographs, my issue was understood. I chose to accept the compensation offered.

Very convenient for the airport, only 5 minutes walk. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

Booked the ibis and got put into the ibis budget rooms which was not what we had booked. No help from ibis staff who checked their system and we had been out in the wrong room so signposted us to trip. No offer to pay a fee to change rooms just rebook and pay again. Trip who we booked with were not contactable. Be careful using third party booking sites as they charged for one thing and booked us something else. Won't use either ibis or trip again.

Hotel was fine but room could do with a lick of paint. And new carpets

Hotel was clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. We booked it as we had an early flight from the airport, one issue was the taxis and cars constantly beeping their horns at around 3am which kept us awake, this is not the hotels fault but unsure if it was just a one off or if it’s always the same. Hotel really good for what we needed though, could have had a fridge to make it better.
