Bathrooms **** water in all the bathrooms two hours of waiting for check in at check out they charged me for a child that was included in the reservation wet beds horrible food old facility the worst hotel not recommended to anyone

The property itself is gorgeous. Being able to be on the white beaches with crystal blue water was awesome! Loved feeding the turtles in the ocean. The staff was amazing- tip $5 in the buffets on day one and they will remember your drink orders the entire week and take great care of you! Food choices were great! Only downfall is the drive from airport- get a shuttle ahead of time so you avoid the riff raff at the airport and don’t look out the window bc the area is very depressing until you pull into the resort! Once there it’s heaven!!! Will be back

We returned for our fourth visit, and overall it was a good experience. The resort is showing some wear, and something we've noticed last year and this year is a huge number of recent high school graduates who go a bit wild, and make accessing the bars difficult. Check-in continues to be a time-consuming process as well, which is frustrating.

My wife and my 4 daughters stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace to celebrate my daughter’s 15th Birthday. We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were friendly. The service exceptional. The pools were amazing. The pool water is warm and we were able to swim in them at night. We never had a problem finding pool chairs or beach chairs. The beach is beautiful with white sand and palm trees everywhere to give u shade. The Caribbean Sea had different tones of aqua blues that were incredible. The 6 hotel grounds are manicured and well kept. This resort is massive with so much to do. This resort is kept clean and spotless. We loved the Plaza Mexicana where we bought local artesian gifts made by the Mayan people. The shopping there is cheaper than the Mall across and more artistic with vibrant colors everywhere. There service at the restaurants was great and the food was good. I something to improve: they need more staff during check in. It took a while for our turn since there was only 2 people in the front desk. The welcome alcoholic drinks while waiting in line helped with the wait time. In summary this resort is great for families and is definitely worth it. We didn’t want to leave and we can’t wait to go back!!!

I've stayed several times in Mexico and this was probably the least favorite. The bartenders at the bars (in general) weren't quick with service, nor very friendly. The beaches are very rocky and very limited spots to enjoy the ocean, which is why we go. We walked 1/2 mile to get to any the lobby, or to any amenities. If you enjoy walking, this may be for you.

I was booked at the Palace but upon arrival was upgraded to the Adults Only. Disappointed in that. Stayed at the Palace before and loved everything about it.
