Kimpton Tres Rios - All Inclusive

My family loves coming here as often as we can. The staff is super friendly and helpful (and funny too!). Make sure to book experiences during your stay. We went kayaking and our guide Miriam was the best! She was helpful and kind. The food was always amazing, no matter which restaurant we visited! Luis was our favourite server, he is hilarious! We hope to come back soon!

Alexis and the jungle carts was awesome. Very informative. Alexis was a great tour guide and he was a lot of fun to listen to. Alexis should be given a raise he has taken the time to learn the park well and provided a great experience for my kids and I. I highly recommend Alexis and Tres Rios.

I have been to this resort many times over the last ten years. I have never had a bad experience. The staff treat us like family. Special shout out to Rosa, Erandi, omlette lady (sorry I forgot her name ), Miguel, Gustav, Nefthali, Agustin. The ladies in the bakery make yummy lattes and you need to try the donuts. Juan is amazing at helping you plan your excursions. Our butlers Daniel, Ruth and Alma were very accommodating and having them on WhatsApp made communication easy. Although currently under some renovations, we had no concerns with delays or noise. This is my idea of paradise and I look forward to coming back again in the future.

A lot of things to like about this resort, but it is definitely a bit rough around the edges as it is under construction and seems to be many months out from being complete. But can be a great time as long as you’re expecting those rough spots (as we were based on reviews we’d read on here). Pros: —Beautiful grounds. Lots of wildlife around the resort, the adult pool was relaxing, and the other pool with the waterslides was fun. —Great service from wait staff, especially Victor at the pool bar. —Drinks and food were all good. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet selection and the Mexican restaurant in particular. I don’t know what they put in the margaritas at the Mexican restaurant, but they were some of the best I’ve ever had. —The beach was nice and not too crowded. —The on-site cenotes were very nice. Definitely recommend the cenote-to-sea snorkel that the resort offers. —We stayed in a newly renovated room. The aesthetic was nice, the bathrooms were huge, and the beds were comfortable. Cons: —Despite being a newly renovated room, there were leaks in two places in the ceiling, which constantly dripped. One was in the closet and the other in the bathroom. They were in out of the way places, so easy to avoid, but not great nonetheless. —The AC throughout the resort failed for a couple of days. It made for some pretty warm nights although, being December, it wasn’t terrible. —The rooms don’t have any storage other than a closet with a few hangers (i.e. no dressers etc.) so we ended up having to live out of our suitcases/ stack clothes along the edges of the room for the week. —Despite being in the main building and just a few steps from the lobby and bars, the WiFi signal was not strong enough to use in our room. In my mind, the grounds, food, and service outweighed the poor construction quality of the room, and I think this can be a fun spot for vacation as long as you go into it with those expectations.

Special thank you to Mayordomos *Daniel*, Cellio, Ruth and Johnny; Segway Jesus; Bakery Alma; Pool bar Edgar; Terraza Herencia Bar Angel; Premier transportation drivers; Sunset Royal pool bar Fernando & many others I can't remember their names. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!! We can't wait to return and are already planning next year summer visit.
