If you are not a fan of the Edition, you have no reason not to choose the St. Regis next door. The Maya Edition is very exquisite but the price-performance ratio is extremely poor. The restaurant is very expensive and the food is terrible. The hotel does not have a butler, but as an edition, it is top-notch and very beautiful.

This is a beautiful property tucked away in an enclave of mangroves just north of Playa del Carmen. It was so peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights. Brian and Paco at So’ol beach club gave tremendous service. And the food was so fresh. We will certainly be back soon!

Beautiful resort with amazing staff. Is quiet for sure, you won’t find pool aerobics or a limbo contest- so if that’s your jam, consider another property. Also we came kid free, our kids would have been bored on day two. But if you crave a small luxury adult geared hotel- this is worth considering. The food and beverage are good, but pricey. The beach is beautiful and the staff is lovely. I particularly loved the tennis facilities on site and the spa here!! Will be back to Kanai. Gracias ;)

We had an incredible stay at The Edition! We were very excited to stay at this new hotel, and it did not disappoint! We’ve stayed at other Editions, and this property had the most beautiful, well-maintained grounds by far and a very spacious, clean room. The view of the ocean was stellar. Most importantly, the staff was incredible! They truly went above and beyond! Alberto at the pool and Emmanuel and Manager Ana M. at the Kitchen were so thoughtful and made our trip! We can’t wait to return!!

Had a great time at the Edition. I know some had issues with staff, but we didn’t have an issue with a single staff member (the GM even brought out bags to our room HIMSELF so we didn’t have to walk back to the bell desk). No one seemed above or below anything and was super helpful. The drinks were great and while I’d read the food was so so I had a really great meal at all the restaurants we went to Ki’is for dinner, the kitchen for breakfast and both the pool restaurant and so’ol beach club. They also have deals with the neighboring properties (st Regis and Auberge Etereo) so you can dine and visit other properties without much hassle or distance. The property is STUNNING and feels five star - our room had a pool and it was beautiful and perfect temperature - all while being not crazy expensive. Highly recommended!

Beautiful resort, well appointed and the best customer service I’ve experienced in the Cancun area and any Marriott property. Attention to detail was there in all aspects of service, the food was incredible - ranging from the poolside food to the dinners. The staff is so helpful and friendly, went out of their way to coordinate spa bookings, transportation, reservations and events. This is the second time at the location and the only place I will stay in the area.
