Great hotel. Very hospitable owner, although we did not see each other, but was always in touch in the chat. Nearby bus stop, minimarket. Not far from the embankment, all kinds of snack bars. Everything you need in the hotel. On the ground floor there is a dining room where you can use a microwave and a kettle, here in the morning breakfast (cereals, milk, toast, tea, coffee). In the room there is a large bed, shower gel, disposable toothbrushes with paste, many sockets, towels. If I am in Sokcho again - I will definitely stay here!

They are very professionals, we did not have to wait long when we checked - in, they directly gave us the key of our room, the fastest process we have ever experienced. Although the room is a little bit small, but it's very clean with a flat TV, the staffs are very friendly and helpful although they cannot speak English. We must clean up our own room once we check-in. The shower room - toilet is spacious enough and clean equipped with liquid bath soap and shampoo, towels, toothbrushes. They provides breads, coffee, tea, orange juice and free - flow drinking water. We can use the dining room anytime we want. The location is close to a convenient store, Fishery Market, Sokcho Lighthouse observatory, and the Intercity bus terminal. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

This is an amazing place to stay if you're on a budget and even if you're not. We arrived early from Seoul with the intent to stay two days. James at reception (who speaks excellent English) asked us what we planned to do then sat us down with the Sokchu map. There was so much to see and he was so helpful that after he was done we amended our booking to three days. So far we have not been disappointed with Sokchu nor the James BLuE. The room is cosy but has towels, a good bed, AC, a mini-fridge and AC. Definitely more than I was expecting from a hostel. There are dorm rooms and private rooms. Breakfast is toast, jam and coffee/tea. The location is perfect for getting to the intercity bus terminal, busses to Seoraksan or just walking around Sokcho. It is one of the nicest, best value places I have ever stayed at!

The hotel is well located, we spent 3 very pleasant nights there. We were welcomed by a member of the team who guided us well. The next day we had the opportunity to meet James the manager, who was sorry not to have been able to welcome us in person (which says a lot about his sense of hospitality), he advised us on great walks to do and beautiful things to see in Sokcho even before you ask. There is nothing to complain about the quality of service and the cleanliness of the room. If you're looking for a place to stay in this crabbing capital, check out the Blue James Hotel.
