Chateau de Montrame

The property was nothing like the photographs. The outside area was very run down and not well maintained. No Reception and no one to meet and greet. In fact it took a while to find a way into the property and discover a phone number to call for assistance. Once contacted Yoel was very obliging. Told me to go up to a room that did not have an ensuite. Mentioned the shared bathroom at this time had no hot water! Eventually, put me in another building with hot water but no wifi! If I wanted wifi I would need to walk back to the main building! It was a ground floor room and luckily I checked as one of the “French windows” was not locked. The room had many cobwebs and spiders. When drawn the curtains did cover all of the windows. Dead bugs on the floor. In the bathroom there were dead bugs in the bath, and more cobwebs. No extractor fan. So everything got covered in steam and became quite damp. The soap, a small disc, looked like it had been used by someone else. On check out there was no one to speak with, and I saw no member of staff even though I did not depart until after 2.00 pm. It seems I was the only guest in the hotel overnight. Even though on the ******* web site supposedly only one room left available! I’m wondering if that may have been the reason there was no staff! Definitely someone from ******* should physically check this hotel. Would stay here again, and worry regarding future ******* recommendations!

If you want a facility without in -room bathrooms, if you want cheap beds and cheap bedding this place is for you. There is no staff at night, you must check in by a certain time or you are out of luck. There is no person in the morning when you depart and getting a cab to come pick you up is near impossible. And since there is no staff there, they do not share relationships that they might have to get someone to pick you up. They want you to clean your own coffee/tea cups and that is the only amenity that I could find. This might be a fun place for a boyscout troop, but not for adults expecting reasonable accomodations. Never have I knowingly been in such poor accomodations

no where could I see anything that said no bathrooms or showers in the rooms - that was unique. you are asked to wash your own glasses and tea cups - that is unique. there is no staff to assist with things like ground transportation
