We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel & Spa Monasterio. It is in a central location in the Pyrenees and has far more amenities than most hotels in the region. For those reasons, we were able to access some of the best hiking areas in the Spanish Pyrenees while staying at a luxury hotel. The hotel is a marvelous renovation. The public spaces have a lot of historical character and wonderful works of art from all over the world. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and fully renovated with a modern bathroom and good technology. The hotel staff was friendly and generally good, but many of the staff members were inexperienced and needed additional training. The hotel restaurant is good and has a nice wine list, but we also enjoyed going to nearby Ainsa for dinner. Only a few of the staff spoke languages other than Spanish, which is fine, but if this property would like to be more welcoming to people outside of Spain, it should have more staff who speak English and French.
