Fireweed Motel

Very clean and friendly hotel. They audit the cleaners work to guarantee cleanliness. I was very impressed. The staff was friendly and accommodating if anything was needed. Would recommend as a great place to stay

It was very convenient having access to a communal kitchen & laundry ($2 a load). The kitchen was clean, tidy & well outfitted. The room was functional &, thankfully, there was a portable air conditioner in the room. The bathroom had been updated & was very clean. It is a pleasant, convenient (very easy walking distance to the main restaurants & shops), reasonable priced hotel.

Passing through Smithers, my son and I only needed a 10 hour sleep before getting back on the road. It's obvious that the owner of this hotel is really investing in the room product. From the outside, it's an older motel in a very good location. On the inside were many upscale investments not commonly found in a budget property. I'll start with the bathroom. There's a beautiful shower with sliding glass door. The tile is real ceramic on the shower wall, and bathroom floor. The vanity was large and the toilet looks to have been recently replaced. Top notch bathroom and towels. There's also a window in the bathroom for ventilation. The room had a full kitchen with stove and also recently modernized/upgraded. The linens on the bed were new, clean and comfortable. Many times, a budget motel would be behind the times, but this one clearly different. The white waffled duvet cover was presented well. The floors were a wood veneer or vinyl plank. I would guess that the parking lot and exterior railings are next to be modernized. Whether you're staying for a quick overnight or a ski weekend, this hotel impresses!!

Stayed at the Fireweed on business for 1 night. Overall pleased with my stay. Pros: very clean, recently renovated bathroom in my room (30), great location, very (very) firm mattress which I like, good wifi (joined meetings with video and no issues) Cons: outside noise was pretty loud but my sound machine provided coverage thank goodness I had it, no coffee maker or way to heat water in the room which is rare I think Nice motel and great choice when you’re in Smithers!

Reminded me of motels I stayed at on road trips when I was a kid: basic, but clean, quiet and comfortable. With better mattresses than I recall! There was a laundry and large kitchen onsite, and we used the freezer in that kitchen for our ice packs as the bar fridge in the room didn't have a freezer. Really nice check-in staff, too.

We got a spacious, nice, very clean room, but the bath needs remodeling, soon! That said, we had a nice stay, the staff is very friendly and the Motel is located just a couple of minutes away from Smithers "Main Street" so to speak. So, except from the bathroom, you get everything you want and need from a Motel.
