At the very outset I would highly recommend this hotel. We had a fabulous time both in the hotel and on Skopelos. This maybe a Greek 5 star hotel, however in the UK it would be a 4 star at best. On arrival we were greeted warmly by the receptionist albeit it was nearly 11 pm at night. Having completed the necessary paperwork we were the told we had been given a room upgrade, which was a pleasant surprise. We were hoping to grab a snack from the bar as we were tired and hungry, but sadly this wasn't an option. We were delighted with room 136. Seperate bedrooms, nicely decorated, modern furniture, a basket with toothbrush, soaps, shampoos etc, and in the fridge complimentary soft drinks, water and a bottle of wine. Air conditioning is standard at no extra cost. Whilst we were there the cleaning was impeccable. We had room service everyday, clean towels everyday, and the bedding changed at least four times over the duration of the holiday. This was faultless. Breakfast was excellent. Admittedly I do like a full English but there was an array of hot and cold dishes, pies, cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, fresh juices made by the "Juice Man", and a lady who made fresh! pancakes, pies, crepes and waffles. I think it would be very difficult for anyone to agree there wasn't a great selection. Pool bar was equally delightful. We mostly stuck to the Greek salad, pizza and burgers. Very fairly priced and the bar team were always smiling and welcoming. Sun beds! Absolutely not a problem whilst we were there. The hotel doesn't allow you to reserve the beds. Excellent. You simply wandered down and collected a towel. Once you had done, you simply handed it back. Absolutely the right way to do it. I detest folk who are out at first light to secure a sun bed that they have no intention of using. Why or why! Away from the hotel, Skopelos town is around 15 mins and you are walking downhill so it's a fairly easy stroll. However for 5 euros we always caught the taxi back. You get one from the only taxi rank in Skopelos on the sea front. Lastly, the hotel did offer a Mama Mia private trip for 320 euros. Thannos was an excellent guide and we were out from 9am till 3 pm. We visited the Mama Mia church, a local village and three beaches. Being brutally honest, with hindsight, probably 320 euros was too much to pay. The local tour operator, Dolphin Tours, offers a similar tour at 40 euros per person. To summarise, yes, I would highly recommended this hotel for a quiet and pleasant stay.

Exxeptionally friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet. Clean and peaceful generally. Our junior suite with private pool was very modern with nice touches such as remote-operated curtains and a very quiet aircon, striking décor, and had a distant sea view. The pool itself is beautifully clean and inviting, as is the large general pool. A few notes on possible improvements to the room: 1. Storage space rather limited. There is room for extra shelving next to the hanging space if the full length mirror is moved. 2. The private pools and lounging areas aren't exactly private. Some tasteful screening between the pools would help. (There are 4 in a row.) 3. There is a very upmarket coffee machine, kettle and a supply of teas and coffee pods. However, the tea and coffee are only replenished on request. Also, only paper cups are provided, and also not replenished once used. In the end we 'stole' ceramic cups from the breakfast room. Not really acceptable for a 5* establishment. 4. The pebble finish around the basin, although very attractive, is not conducive to standing any small-based toiletries on. Again, a couple of shelves would help here. 5. There are no towel rails or rings, or even hooks. Towels must be put back on a shelf, or taken outside to dry. 6. The key card has to be inserted into a slot in the room for the electricity to be turned on. If you leave for the day, the contents of the bar fridge don't stay cold, unless you acquire a second card. 7. There is no information on how things work in the room. Some sort of booklet would be helpful. Having said that, we still had a wonderful stay here. The island of Skopelos is beautiful and there are lots of things to see and do.
