Blue Horizon Studios

We decided to take 3 weeksin Skiathos as my wife was 60 on 5th Sept. We stayed in Blue Horizon Apts. Very nice location with fab views, very quiet and relaxing which is required after the dreaded hill ! Having said that Im 66 and we managed ok. Michael and his family are really nice people who are always on hand if you have an issue. The apartments although clean could be kitted out a bit better if you are doing your own breakfast or lunch. Tbe TV does not have Sky news or BBC World service ( thats just me ). Its all Greek. The beds are comfy and the apts are cleaned daily by a very nice lady. The bar area is very good and that was a god send on the 5th Sept when Storm Daniel raged over the island, we all partied for my wifes 60th. The pool is good but not good for kids more for adults with really comfy subeds always available. Food is really nice at the bar and the breakfasts looked good even though I didnt partake. All in all I wouldnt hesitate in going back.

The hotel is situated in an ideal position and from the roof top breakfast restaurant it has amazing views over the port and town . It is spotlessly clean and the room we stayed in was large and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel and restaurant are absolutely lovely and cannot help you enough. We stayed half board and enjoyed every meal at the Carnayo restaurant attached to the hotel the breakfast was also very good. There is a small pool and sun beds available but these are limited. Overall the hotel is excellent and the staff are wonderful we throughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future .
Skiathos Palace Hotel

The Hotel is on a hillside with a very steep drive way up to reception, or just as steep steps. So if you have mobility issues I would rethink. The views are probably the best I've ever seen...absolutely stunning. The hotel is supposed to be 5 star but we would say 3-4. Needs a good up date. We opted for just breakfast. Buffet style. Big queues for the coffee and toast making machine. Bar drinks a bit pricey. Bar food not very nice. There are regular mini buses from hotel reception to Marathas and Koukounaries beaches. Be careful on your way down to Marathas beach, my wife slipped and broke her arm. The bar/beach shack staff were tremendous that day as well as the hotel first-aider. The rooms are cleaned every day. Cleaning staff are polite and hard working.

desperate to get away from the place from hell (Agnadi studio apartments) we stumbled upon this hotel, went in asked about vacancy was met by Kostas one of the brothers then our holiday began , when we went there nothing was too much for the family, all we wanted was peace of mind and service clean rooms this was for us.Other people there made us welcome many have been coming for 20 yrs and gave us good advice ,this is not a party hotel plain simple traditional follow the rules treat staff with respect they deserve and you will get it back mini bus service brilliant room was cleaned every day sheets and towel change regular food was traditional was pleasure to eat there several times, the family all ways around if you needed anything. on second day we were in town and the father recognised us and insisted on paying for our drinks in the harbour. we are already looking at going back ,they don,t work through tour operators so we will go independently. what you see is what you get which in our case was Paradise

Stayed here for 12 nights with my husband.. lovely apartments with great maid service every day . Beds are comfortable and spotless.. the pool area is nice with towels provided and a bar area serving cold beers and drinks and snacks .. breakfast is plentiful.. the usual cereal , yogurt, fruit , cakes , croissants etc .. hot food like eggs .. little sausages, local bacon etc .. hot water for tea .. and coffee which does sadly get cold quickly.. cappuccino and latte coffees available to purchase. The steep hill from the port and town is a killer .. you have to get a taxi back .. you can walk down but back is hard .. the staff are wonderful.. can’t do enough for you.. and the housekeeper lady is so good ., cleaned our room every single day. I think if we came back to skiathos we would probably stay closer to the town .. otherwise we would definitely stay here again.
