I honestly was in the process of writing out a really long review with how awful this place is then I just stopped and thought I can’t be bothered to even give them anymore of my time!.In a nutshell the place is a joke and comparable to more like a back packers hostel or a prison than a hotel! Food is a disgrace and tasteless The all inclusive is a joke and the drinks on offer are horiffic and taste like some awful soap chemical because they are so watered down. The rooms are again awful with a prison cell like feeling.so poorly lit and beds with stains and rock hard mattresses. No evening entertainment so we ended up buying drinks /snacks from the shop in the hotel and going back to the prison cell to play cards. Only positive about this hotel is the views which are beautiful….even the pool which is about 8ft deep had baby wipes and even a sock floating in there at one point is a ear infection waiting to happen! This place honestly became so bad it became funny and me and my girlfriend actually ended up laughing with how bad it is.thank god we were only there for a few nights. A good bit of advice if you are unlucky enough to be sold this joke of a all inclusive hotel by love holidays is that if you head down towards the beach and turn right just before you get there there is a nice place to eat and drink which is right on the sea. Basically bring lots of cash as you will need it to eat and drink out

We booked a very last minute holiday here as a couple needing some “us” time. We were so pleasantly surprised when the transfer dropped us off! Christiana on reception was so welcoming (after already giving us a preferred room by sending her an email the day before). Everywhere was spotless, stunning views of the sea and a beautiful pool to swim in (larger than we thought it would be). The rooms were basic, but clean. The food was traditional and good and all we needed. The patio area where we dined was beautiful and peaceful. We ate a couple of times at the taverna opposite next to the beach, which was great quality and inexpensive. The walks along the beach to the left of the hotel took us to a picturesque beach bar for iced Greek coffees or cocktails and the sea was crystal clear. A trip to Rethymnon with bus tickets bought from the hotel cost us 4€ each return and the city is stunning. What a relaxing few days we had! We will be returning to this value for money hotel, where the staff welcome you like family! Thank you xxx

Went with my son for his birthday treat, lovely to spend quality time together. Food on the whole was nice, always meat, pasta, veg and fish options and a good selection of salads. My son especially loved the carbonara and the mashed potato. All inclusive alcoholic drinks limited to beer, wine, raki or ouzo, all other alcohol to purchase. Lots of stairs and no lift, so you do get your daily steps in. Staff friendly and reception team very helpful and knowledgeable. Views are spectacular from the rooms and the sunsets are amazing. A short walk to the beach.

I went to Skaleta with my partner, despite asking for a double room we were given two single bed, we could feel all the mattress springs. We asked several time for a double bed, but no options. The restaurant: only 4 main in total to choose from, included a overcooked pasta and plain white rice. Side plenty of fresh salad. Same type lunch and dinner. Breakfast not impressive. My boyfriend has lost 2 kg in a week, good but not what you want in holiday. The free beach not far from the hotel is free but good, so is the sea. The is only an option in the village to have some food, but not great either. You need a car or the bus to take you to the closest city. Bus are regular every 30 min. Overall, I would not recommended this hotel.

There are a lot of issues with this hotel that were falsely advertised by love holidays, that being said the lack of care, attention and detail the hotel and its staff put in is sad really. The ‘all inclusive’ isn’t all inclusive, it’s watered down beer, wine, ouzo and raki. The bar also doesn’t open until 11am and closes at 10pm which was falsely advertised by love holidays saying it started at 10am and finished at 1:30am. Water isn’t available on all Inclusive until 11am so between breakfast finishing at 9:30 and 11am you have to buy water. Then at 11am the water they supply is from what the hotel state ‘a filtered tap’ but tastes like sea water and isn’t drinkable, so they make more money out of you by having to buy bottled water all day. The drinks outside of the ‘all inclusive’ were about €9 each. The food was an absolute joke, such limited choices, often cold and full of salt. We spent more time getting the bus into town and spending more money to eat a decent meal. The rooms are heavily outdated, full of ants, uncomfortable beds with only one tiny flat pillow, and tiny balcony which isn’t enjoyable to sit on. The shower when put into the connector was above our heads and would have soaked the whole bathroom if we were to use it as intended. The pool area was okay, however there was not enough sunbeds for the amount of people staying at the hotel so there was a lot of people just sat on tables around the pool with their towels. There is plenty of room for more sun beds to be placed around, just lack of care for the holidaymakers. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the views, however, you have to climb a hell of a lot of steps to witness these. Our room was in the 400s which meant walking up 15/20 set of steps various times a day, not a problem for us a young couple but quite frustrating when it’s 32 degrees and you just want to get back to your room. We didn’t spend a lot of our time here, especially in the evenings as it’s incredibly boring with the same Greek rap music played every night. We expected quite a basic hotel due to the price but this is far from basic and was massively mis sold to us. We would have never have booked here if it was advertised for exactly what it was and outlined exactly what you got as ‘all inclusive’ to not even supply bottled water as part of the all inclusive is quite frankly shocking.

I was not overly impressed with the stay at this hotel. It has been falsely advertised and is far from what is described. The room was ant infested. Food was poor and very little options as for the drinks. Should be classified as a full board. This information should be on the description of hotel. Rooms are cleaned daily which is nice but they done nothing about the ants. Love holidays should not be advertising this hotel as an all inclusive hotel. Having to pay for bottled water when they know it is not filtered correctly from a tap should not be the case. Very disappointed I get that it is a cheaper alternative but for the money we payed we should not have had this experience.

An absolute nightmare, DO NOT STAY at this disgusting, filthy so called Hotel, on arrival my room and my friends room stunk of damp & mould, no fridge in the room and that’s because we had a sea view? food was inedible unless you was a fly, plenty of them enjoying the uncovered, unlabelled trays of crap even the English speaking receptionist told us others had left the week before due to the conditions of this dump, we was offered another room which was identical to what we all ready had, this must of made the hotel (🤣🤣🤣) feel like they have helped us, exposed electrical cables, Light’s without safety covers broken tiles in the bathroom. We ended up booking air bnb for the remaining 6 days. If you have already booked, 100% don’t go, get it changed Message to Scaleta: I have read your reply’s to other complaints saying “all the other guests enjoy their stay and only complain to get a free holiday”’ You couldn’t pay me to stay here, filth.

Based on the recent reviews, I was very concerned about spending a week at Scaleta beach hotel, even to the last minute, actually travelling from the airport to the hotel, I was checking out alternative hotels. However, we were pleasantly surprised. 1) Check in was very quick & professional, and important info such as wifi , restaurant timings and all inclusive content was provided by the very friendly receptionist (sorry, I can't remember his name) 2) Rooms were very basic but very clean, the air conditioning was the best we ever experienced (very quiet and no resetting needed at all) 3) Food was good , range of all inclusive drinks is very limited. Regarding the food , as in any other all inclusive (even 4 or 5 star) it can get quite repetitive. We ate there in the evenings a few times. For us, when booking all inclusive we normally venture out to local tavernas and bars to get the local 'vibe'. 4) Service was exceptionally good, everyone was very friendly and professional, no complaints at all. 5) Amenities are convenient, busy services to either Panorma or Rethymon every 30 min, for 2 Euros each per fare. Supermarkets close by, Ilios restaurant 5 min walk from hotel, amazing food, huge portions... Thank you Scaleta team for the relaxing stay 🧡
