We stayed two nights recently in late July. The staff was friendly but always a bit disjointed. When we checked in e were told out room was not ready and that the valet would bring our bags tot our room (as we set of hiking). We returned and our bags were not in the room..."your bags are not there"? We went for a swim in the beautiful pool but there were not towels. I went to the only attendant I could find down in the spa solon area and reported not towels, "There are no towels there"? Went to breakfast and to the nice buffet offerings, no plates. "There are no plates there"? On our last breakfast, the Maitre 'd asked us what selections we would like for dinner that upcoming evening", we check out today. Finally, we went to the parking garage and our car was blocked by an electrician's van. We stood in the car park for 20-25 minutes before the electrician could be found to move his van that boxed us in. The room did not have any set of view and was located seemingly above a service entrance where the (employee would smoke and talk), the laundry and dock? There was a new building under construction just outside the room, and nail guns and noise started early. Finally the room had no air conditioning and no fan and was not comfortable. I would say, in spite of nice design features and a seemingly accommodating staff, unless you spring big and get the few select room that actually do face the mountain, there are better and cheaper alternatives in the area. Finally, whereas the breakfast was beautiful the rolls were stale every day and some of the items (such as cheeses) lacked a way to slice them (pecorino sp?, no grader, no knife). The dinners were fine, but I would say, choices often seemed more 'experimental' than accessible, even though we are 'foodies' with a small "f".
