Hotel Medium Romantic

Good - The location of this hotel right in the town centre is fantastic! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a period building - so it has some limitations because of this. Keeping in mind that the Romantic is a budget hotel, we had a nice stay, the breakfast was nice and everywhere was clean and tidy Not so good - The first room that we were given was TINY! I should also say that the double beds are small - Standard Spanish doubles which is 135-140cm - If you are not used to this or are two friends sharing, this my come as a surprise. But the staff were super helpful and were able to offer us an alternative room which was much better. If you are at the front of the building the soundproofing is poor, due to the original windows etc The Wifi is slow if you actually need to doing anything other than a little surfing the internet.
Camping El Garrofer

We stayed in a ‘Safari Lodge’ November 2023, and enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfy and clean and the ‘lodge’ (more tent with a double bed in it) felt very new. It also comes with a heater which is great for the cold nights. However the room was extremely dark at night, as it only has 2 small lamps and 1 exterior, making it hard to see during night time. The Only downsides of the site itself is it can be a bit noisy from planes/trains passing throughout the night. As well as this, there was several bright lights which shine into the tents, making it quite light inside. The bathrooms + showers were exceptionally clean however. I wouldn’t recommend staying here outside of the peak summer season, as when we arrived at 4pm on a Tuesday we found everything on the site was shut, (including the restaurant + shop). The pools were advertised as shut, but we weren’t made aware of this before we arrived, however they did open up on some other days for very limited hours. The site is advertised as a 15 minute walk from the beach, however this is more like a 45 minute walk which leads to a small pebble beach, not the main Sitges beach as you’d expect. I don’t recommend this walk in the night as it is completely pitch black and passes through fields + underpasses. Another thing to bear in mind is that it’s a good location for Sitges, but if you plan on travelling to Barcelona via public transport, your only option is a bus which costs €4.50 each way and runs 1-2 times an hour. Walking from the accommodation into Sitges or anywhere else is impossible, as it’s located off of one of the highways which doesn’t have any pavements. All together though, the site was extremely clean, had helpful and friendly security + staff, and was great value for the price we payed. Just a shame about the public transport, the bright lights, and access to/from the site. A bonus is there is a large population of cats who are very friendly :)
Sitges Royal Rooms

Arrived in the Sitges Royal Rooms in late February 2024 for a five day mini break with my partner. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from the railway station, we chose to buy a 3 zone T-Familiar transport card from BCN airport railway station for £28 which gave us two return journeys from Barcelona Zone 1 to Sitges. This was a very relaxing, stress free way to travel down the coast from Barcelona and in only half an hour. Check in consisted of a brief tour and history of the hotel, payment of the tourist tax (payable directly in cash to the hotel, mandatory in Catalonia) and being shown to our room. We had reserved the room ”Carmen” (all the rooms are named after operas) which was spacious, clean and had a large private terrace for us to lounge in giving us some comfortable extra space. The bathroom and fittings were good quality and contained a large shower cubicle with lots of piping hot water available. We would have liked to have a drink in the garden bar which is closed at this time of year, the garden looked wonderful, but this is only a small gripe, there were lots of local places to drink. Cleaning throughout the stay was impeccable. Our hosts were true gentlemen who couldn't do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay, offering advice on where to eat and places to go. We would definitely like to stay at this hotel again when we're next in the area. It's proximity to the hustle and bustle of downtown Barcelona and Tarragona makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. Sitges itself is a wonderful seaside village with a beautiful old town, modern beachfront and many independent shops and eateries, it is in fact a food lovers paradise! Sitges is also very LGBTQ+ friendly and a great family destination with locals being tolerant and respectful to all, was great to witness. There are also a couple of clothing optional beaches if you're into the naturist lifestyle. Finally - Sitges Royal Rooms may NOT be for you if you're used to or prefer ultra modern characterless hotels. It's an old building with history, the fixtures and fittings sympathetically reflect this and the décor and furniture add to it's charm. We like this sort of thing therefore highly recommend.
Hotel Montserrat

Pro: friendly staff at reception, some beach parasols available for customers free, microwave oven and Nespresso coffee machine in the room, good cleaning of the rooms, air conditioning and wifi in the room, the lift is present. Contra: small and free room (for a stay of more than 10 days booked many months before they could have given a better room), bathroom in the private room with both window and a vacuum cleaner, bathing with little range and medium quality (gum croissant and horrible coffee), lady that manages the breakfast room that worries customers to make them sweet well before the closing time of the room (10.30), a rather high price, given that it is still a date structure and not on the sea.
