Another great find as a base near Dambulla, Polenuwana, Pidurangala and Sigriya. The hotel is open for 2 years and the staff are great. Very attentive and can't do enough for you. The site is built off the grass floor with boardwalks between the front desk, the pool (beautiful) and the lodges. There are a couple of lodges out further into the ground behind the hotel where you can see wildlife better, maybe even an elephant, but quite rare. The beds are very comfortable and air con fantastic. You have a balcony on the bedroom with a hall to a wardrobe and modern toilet. Would recommend if you are happy to be a little off the main road. Not safely walkable in the dark but can get a tuk tuk for around 500 rupees (£1.25 or less to the main *****). At breakfast we were served by Navindur who was very courteous and helpful. Ishan the manager was also very attentive to everyone and very kind. All in all a great stop in Sigiriya.

Very modern and spotless rooms laid out in a very pretty garden. Extremely comfortable bed and nice big towels. Evening meal was very tasty. The Indian curry meal takes 1hr to prepare so it’s a good idea to put your order in before you arrive at the restaurant. There was enough rice for two in the curry meal option but not enough of other dishes so no good for sharing. Breakfast is a set menu with choice of English or Sri Lanka. English consists of tea, coffee, fruit, assorted bread and an egg cooked to your specifications. Staff all friendly and helpful.

A well designed property that has some of the best staff and food we experienced on our trip to Sri Lanka. Really wish our schedule could have changed so we could have stayed longer. The restaurant was top class with an amazing spread for breakfast and great choices for dinner. The rooms were amazing and the grounds were very well designed.

We spent two nights at this resort and had a lovely time. Rooms are a bit small maybe but have all you need for a short stay. We really enjoyed the pool, fresh towels are provided daily. They have a restaurant open all day from 7:30am to 10:30pm, the staff works above and beyond for guests. The waiters are super lovely, always up for a chat and they provide a superlative service. We even used their laundry service which was affordable and with a 24hrs turnaround. The highlight of this hotel is their breakfast! Everyday they have a different Sinhalese choice which allows you to try different dishes and omg how tasty! Every dish is explained by the staff who also suggests how to combine all the dishes. You also get fresh fruit, fresh juice, bread basket and anything else cooked you might want on order. Definitely the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka so far! Tip - for dinner better to go for Sinhalese dishes rather than western, definitely better quality! We will be back - keep up the good work!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Atha Resort. This is a good value high quality hotel. The staff are helpful and made us very welcome. The rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast a delicious Sri Lankan feast and pool lovely. Good value for money. Highly recommended

The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The food was amazing, particularly the Sri Lankan Curry and complimentary breakfast (which included servings of juices, fruits, breads & traditional Sri Lankan food that changed each morning). We definitely recommend staying here.

Atha Resort is a fantastic small hotel with incredibly helpful staff and manager, all of whom will do almost anything to make your stay more enjoyable. We stayed here for a couple of nights on a B&B basis and the breakfast was lovely as was dinner which was very reasonably priced. The rooms are very lovely and the bed very comfortable. The hotel had a decent size swimming pool with comfortable sun beds along one side - a great place to relax after a morning safari. If you are visiting the Sigiriya area this hotel is definitely worth considering.

From the moment you walk through the front gate, this place feels very special. The pool is the focal point set in beautiful tropical gardens. Our rooms were very comfortable with good air conditioning. However, the staff are what really make this resort. Without exception, they were very helpful and attentive. On our final day, I sprained my ankle coming down Sigirya Rock. The staff provided me with some ice and were very caring. The food is fabulous - good value, beautifully presented and very tasty. On our last night, we ordered the chicken curry which took an hour and twenty minutes to prepare but it was well worth the wait - one of our best meals in Sri Lanka. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will remember Atha Resort with great fondness for years to come.
