If you want to push the boat out and treat yourself (ves) to a memorable few days away or a holiday then this is the place. The corporate mantra seems to be that the customer is king whatever the situation…efficiency, caring, politeness and effectiveness combined.

We've only ever been for a club lunch before, so our Christmas present to each other was a 3 night stay at this excellent hotel. We knew that the food would be top notch but over 3 days the stand out feature of the hotel is the quality of the staff, in all departments. We get used to staff in food establishments avoiding eye contact to save time and minimise their work load ...but at the Victoria it is the complete opposite with the waiting staff, eagle eyed, and never missing a chance to clear plates or take an order, from the newest member of staff to the most senior. The Spa and pool was a bonus but it's the staff that make the stay so memorable.

Everything about the hotel itself is pretty much faultless; the staff are helpful and courteous, the building is gorgeous and the room was everything I’d expect. The spa experience was very nice, I made use of the sauna and had a massage - minor gripe that there isn’t a cold plunge pool. My only grumble is that they no longer possess the full size snooker table that their website boasts and was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel - it was apparently replaced by the spa so they should have updated their promo information.

From start to finish, our stay was wonderful. The staff were so polite and attentive. The facilities were fantastic and the food, really tasty.

This is a magnificent Hotel in a very special peaceful location overlooking the sea and yet within easy walking distance to the charming town. We have been fortunate to stay at The Victoria several times over the last few years. The Service has been consistently good as is the wonderful high quality food beautifully presented. Compliments to the Chefs. The dining room is elegant with unobtrusive evening live music for six evenings a week. The staff are well trained, friendly but professional - Ray on Concierge, the Reception staff, Managers, Gardener, Cleaners, Waiters to name Aidan and Issac who amongst them all are excellent and an asset to the establishment. The gardens are a wonderful feature of the hotel being meticulously maintained with seasonal planting throughout the year and a well maintained Putting Green with sea view. The hotel is traditional with gradual slight changes of a more contemporary style. The atmospheric feel of a bygone era is thankfully not diminishing. The reception/foyer area is magnificent with its beautifully panelled walls and splendid staircase. A place to relax over drinks as an alternative to the sea view lounge area. The fresh flowers throughout the communal areas are exquisite. Bedrooms are either traditional or contemporary style. We love the traditional style but there is something to suit everyone. Now an upgraded spa, treatment and gym area enhances the stay considerably. Outdoor pool for warmer days. We thank everyone who plays a part in keeping up the excellent standards of this beautiful Hotel. You are a fantastic team. We hope we have the pleasure of staying with you many more times in future years. This is a hotel where we feel totally ‘at home’ as soon as we enter. If you want to be thoroughly spoiled this is the Hotel to book.
