Side Golden Rock Hotel 16+ Adults Only

The accommodation boasts a beautiful pool and convenient location near the boulevard and sea. Guests praise the cleanliness and friendly staff but find the breakfast limited in options and variety.

I have spent a week in this fine hotel and enjoyed it very much. Room: spacious, complete and cleaned every day. The beds have firm matrasses, which I like. Restaurant: good meals, a lot of Turkish specialties, great saladbar, drinks served at your table. Swimming pool: clean and spacious. Having it's own bar for drinks and snacks. Staff: very friendly, Ismael, Resul and Mustafa are the most friendly and service minded people. Big compliments! Location: a few hundred meters from the boulevard, which strechtes out for about 5 km, so your evening walk keeps you in shape ;-) Will I come back here? No, because I never ever go to the same place on holidays, but I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone looking for a fine experience in Side Turkey!

There are some great features at this hotel, lovely dining room, food was good, great service from bar and restaurant staff, spotlessly clean throughout, good sized pool, but I am afraid there were some less appealing aspects… between 10 am and 6 pm, there was constant loud music round the pool with a playlist more suited to a night club in Ibiza, lots of rap … everything boom boom with a heavy bass. No chance of a siesta in the sun or in your room if you are close to the bar. No parasols around tables at the bar. Being cynical I might ask is the lack of shade and boom boom music designed to drive people away from the hotel. limited English spoken so if you have a problem hard to be understood. On arrival at 1 am there was a plate of meat and cheese and dry bread in your room … this counted as one of your seven evening meals . Who wants a meal at 1 am? so if you are checking out with a late departure, you don’t get an evening meal as part of your holiday. Courtesy rooms are not available for those checking out late, though the spa showers can be used. Big deal, where do you plug in your hairdryer?!?all inclusive food and alcohol ends at 2.30 pm on day of departure. You can book a late check out 30 euros buys you a late afternoon checkout but 40 euros for a checkout till departure and your evening meal. Information seemed to fluctuate, the use of the safe is an extra charge. There is a private beach but the use is not monitored so anyone could use it … but it is a good five minute walk back to the hotel as he hotel itself has no beach bar. There was entertainment on one evening which was … quite frankly more suited to a nursing home. The all inclusive bar closes at 11.30 pm prompt with the Night Manager looking out of the window to see that it does close promptly …overall I felt the hotel lacked any soul and that customers were not valued, they were perceived as profit reducers, I felt the overall approach was petty and penny pinching by the management. You have probably guessed that I would not return. I am sorry to give a three star rating because the operations staff were lovely and they were definitely five star.
