Calimera Side Resort

Overall our experience has been good. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the food has been excellent. Lots of variety and a good standard. We travelled here with our 12 and 14 year olds and they've enjoyed the pools and the waterslides. They've also found plenty of choice at mealtimes which is a plus. We are in a family room which is very well appointed with an ensuite master and a bathroom adjacent to the kids bedroom. There is a small kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities, a large fridge/freezer and breakfast bar. The small shop at the hotel entrance sells juice, local wines and snacks so if you wanted to get some bits in for the family there's a very local option. The teenage facilities are good, we've played table tennis and there is a snooker table and arcade games for the evening. The lunch choice by the waterslide pool is good for families with a choice of burgers, chips, pizza, spahghetti/tomato sauce, baked fish, salads, fruit and cakes. We travelled just outside of the season and the weather has been beautiful 25-28°. We were worried about this aspect of the holiday but so far, so good. Just right for a teen who doesn't cope well with the heat. On that note there are 3 air con units in the room so plenty of opportunity to acheive the perfect temperature for a comfortable night's sleep. The only thing I would say is a downside of this competitively priced all inclusive hotel is that the price point attracts a certain clientele and that has been a detriment to our full enjoyment of the hotel. Parents utilising the full all-in bar from morning till midnight, foul language and just a general lack of awareness of other hotel users has been an unfortunate revelation and we have spent time trying to dodge these familie/groups. I imagine it would have been unbearable in the height of the season with many more hotel residents of this ilk in the vicinity. From a location point of view, the hotel is a fair distance from the local beach but the hotel runs a regular shuttle bus service. Once at the beach there is no need to pay for sun loungers as there is a dedicated section of the beach for hotel residents, which is shared with a couple of other hotels. There is a modern, clean toilet block and showers but be aware that Calimera residents have to pay for food and drink which is available at the nearby beach bar. Staff in general at the hotel have been friendly and courteous, with name badges displaying if the staff member speaks English (which they mostly do). All in all, a very good value, family friendly hotel. Would we return? Probably not but only because we've been put off by a few of the other UK guests staying here. A shame, as I think everything else has been good. The holiday would have scored a 4 overall if it weren't for this aspect which is an unfortunate reflection on an otherwise more than acceptable and value for money hotel.

On arrival wrong rooms were allocated. Manager sorted it the next morning. The hotel is clean. Bar/serving staff pleasant, cheerful, happy to help. Good selection of food. The hotel is very dated.We last visited Side 10yrs ago and I suspect this hotel hasn't changed in all this time.On checkout I wasn't asked how our holiday was, if we enjoyed our stay, if there was anything they could have done, will we return. The manager didn't care. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel. The Side area is an amazing area, it's steeped in Roman history, so interesting, lots to see and all within walking distance of each area. But Side authorities seem to think they should be pushing all the shops that sell "fake" products. So sad really as it's an amazing area. The historical elements should be foremost in the tourism of this area.

Well I would like to thank all the staff for making this hotel everything it is . They are so lovely and friendly they are like one big family. The room was cleaned daily unless we said it's fine as the little one was asleep but the lovely lady gave us fresh towels and top ups. The food is amazing especially the BBQ every night. Great variety in restaurants and snack bars. Mini disco the kids loved and the entertainment was fab. We didn't mind it finished early as it ment could get the kids to bed early ready for a busy day. The staff work so hard and the place is kept very clean and tidy and the staff never stop and always have a smile on there face. Thank you all again for an amazing holiday

What a find this hotel was! All the staff were noticeably happy, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and plenty of choice. Theme nights were a treat. Went to A la Carte for my Birthday which was made special. Pools are fab. Our children loved the slides. Entertainment was mainly good. Not too late which suited us. Side a 15/20min walk or a short taxi journey. Lovely to browse and look at the ruins. Glass floors a highlight!. The hotel bus to the beach was frequent and a warm welcome was given to the beds reserved for the hotel. We loved this years holiday and I absolutely loved the hotel and am looking into booking for next year.

Well, just returned from our holiday here. For anyone looking to book you won't be disappointed. Hotel is friendly with good size rooms always spotless with good air con. Food was in plenty,always for all inclusive a bit samey but the bar b q grill outside is a plus as is the omelette station at breakfast. My only minor grumble is no veg at kids station as the adult veg was often mixed. But saying that all of us ate well! A la carte was lovely and we had a pleasant evening with new friends chatting. Entertainment team were great so big shout out to Luto and Cetin. Fun times with darts and water polo and foam party. Sunbed situation not a problem you could always find one and didn't need to get up at silly o clock! All of the staff were great but big shout out to Ozcan,Useful and Cemre who looked after us and made it a great holiday.My son and ourselves made friends to enjoy time with.Well done Calimera Side Resort and Thank you for a great holiday! We have had a fabulous 10day stay at this hotel. All the staff are very friendly and very hard working. The cleaners are cleaning all day round the resort. We never struggled for a sun bed , but if you wanted a certain spot , you will need to get up earlier. The food is great so much choice. They make fresh omelettes every morning outside and always a BBQ outside in the evening. We also went to the a la cart in the hotel. We booked this at the reception. When you book you also look at the menu and book what you want then. The two entertainment guys are great they try and get everyone involved in the games. We done water Gym, volleyball and foam party in the aqua pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
