My very first experience in a traditional Japanese ryokan and I couldn't be happier. It was an older establishment with large spacious rooms, comfortable futons and a bathroom. The garden was also beautiful, especially in the evening. The highlight was the exquisite and high-quality kaiseki dinner. The breakfast was also extraordinary! We had the onsen just for us in the evening, which we really enjoyed. We especially liked the outdoor cauldron-bath.
