Shiriuchi Onsen Ryokan

I checked in with high expectations, knowing that this is the oldest hot spring in Hokkaido, boasting 800 years of history. As a historic inn, the facility is old and showing signs of wear and tear, but the soft aspects have made up for the hard aspects and I was able to stay comfortably. As it is called the oldest hot spring, the hot spring was authentic. The hot water, which flows directly from the source, is great for waking up. It helps to blow away sleepiness. The food is also made with local ingredients, which is nice and delicious. The only disappointment was that the views from the guest rooms and open-air bath were not that great. Perhaps due to the aging of the facility, the water flow in the guest rooms was unstable, which was frustrating. I'm sure it's difficult to maintain, but I would like them to put more effort into maintaining and updating the facilities.

A hot spring inn in southern Hokkaido. We stayed here for a night with two meals included. This is said to be the oldest hot spring in Hokkaido, and there are two indoor baths with different spring quality and a private open-air bath. The open-air bath requires advance reservations every 30 minutes. You reserve your time when you check in. The hot spring is wonderful, but this inn accepts day-trip bathers from early in the morning until late at night, and there are many day-trip bathers, so the bathroom is always crowded during the day and it is difficult to bathe in peace. The hot spring itself is wonderful, with water flowing directly from the source. We stayed in a Western-style room in the new building, but it was comfortable. The food seemed to be mostly seafood. We ate in the dining room. The facility itself is comfortable.
