Utopia Warakuen Shiriuchi Onsen Ryokan

This is a hot spring inn run by the Society for the Preservation of Secret Hot Springs. It's a single inn in the mountains, and the hot springs were amazing. You can enjoy different springs, the upper bath, and the lower bath. Since it's a direct spring, they told me to add water if it was too hot, but perhaps because the temperature was low, it was just right. The open-air bath is reserved for a time period, but I was surprised that the place to take off your clothes was outside, with only a shelf and no roof. The meal was more than enough for us. Since it's close to the sea, there was a lot of seafood, but the pieces of sashimi were large, and there was plenty of tachipon in a small bowl. The abalone was also soft and delicious. It takes a long time to get there, using the Isaribi Railway and bus, but it was a wonderful inn that was worth the trip.

A hot spring inn in southern Hokkaido. We stayed here for a night with two meals included. This is said to be the oldest hot spring in Hokkaido, and there are two indoor baths with different spring quality and a private open-air bath. The open-air bath requires advance reservations every 30 minutes. You reserve your time when you check in. The hot spring is wonderful, but this inn accepts day-trip bathers from early in the morning until late at night, and there are many day-trip bathers, so the bathroom is always crowded during the day and it is difficult to bathe in peace. The hot spring itself is wonderful, with water flowing directly from the source. We stayed in a Western-style room in the new building, but it was comfortable. The food seemed to be mostly seafood. We ate in the dining room. The facility itself is comfortable.

Both the indoor bath and the open-air bath are free-flowing hot springs. The indoor bath tends to get steamy, which can make it difficult to get in, but the open-air bath has a sense of openness and the hot spring water is at a comfortable temperature, making it very pleasant.

開湯800年をほこる北海道最古の湯ということで期待を膨らませながらチェックイン。 施設は歴史ある宿ということで老朽化など傷みも見受けられますがハード面のマイナスをソフト面がうまくリカバリーしていて快適に滞在することができました。 最古の湯と称されるだけあり温泉は本格派でした。 源泉かけ流しの熱めの湯は寝起きに効果抜群。眠気を吹き飛ばしてくれます。 料理も地場の食材を使っていて好感がもてます。そして美味しかったです。 客室や露天風呂からの眺望がいまいちだったのが残念だった点。 施設の老朽化からなのか客室の水道の流量が安定しないのは利用していてイライラを感じました。 維持することは大変かと思いますが施設のメンテや更新にも力を入れていただきたいと思いました。
