The parking fee wasn't mentioned in the reservation confirmation call so I had to pay 1,000 yen. I was a bit disappointed because nothing was said about it when I called to confirm the reservation.

My husband was attending a conference at the adjacent conference center. I wasn't sure what to expect of this hotel from reading reviews. Overall the hotel is "no frills" but I truly enjoyed my stay. The weather was lovely, so I opened the window at times to enjoy the air. Since it was not very hot outside, I did not miss AC which some reviewers mentioned as an issue. The only breakfast offered was a Japanese style breakfast and it was delicious! Always a fish and rice. Always miso soup with various toppings and always some form of seaweed. there were pickled veggies of all sorts depending on the morning. And often another form of protein such as beef or chicken or eggs as a side dish. Tea and coffee was great and all the juices. I absolutely loved the breakfasts and it filled me up until dinner time. Choose one of the larger sized rooms. Ours was on the small side but due to the thoughtful layout, it worked quite well for the two of us. The water pressure of the shower was fantastic and bath salts are provided if one likes baths. The bed, carpet and furnishings are outdated but in perfect condition and we found the mattress quite comfortable. One of the pillows was a traditional Japanese style which I tried and slept extremely well using it! It was easy to walk to everything using the bicycle path and I enjoyed the tree lined walk to the train station. I would definitely stay again!

I stayed here to go to JAXA. I couldn't get a twin room when I made the reservation, but when I asked when I arrived, they were able to change it for me. The room was bright, and there was a lot of lighting considering the size of the room, which was nice. (I don't really like dim lighting.) The bath had plenty of hot water, so it didn't take long to fill up, which was nice. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but if you're just going to go back to sleep, it's not a problem. If I go to Tsukuba again, this is a hotel I'd like to stay at. (The complimentary ground coffee wasn't that great - I wish they'd had the drip type.)

While this hotel was closed, I was having trouble finding good hotels where I could stay for business, but when I heard that it had reopened, I decided to use it right away. Unlike before, the whole room smelled like pickles. There was a smell of recess (?) when I entered the room, so maybe they noticed it when they cleaned it and took care of it, but it didn't go away at all. I didn't change the room because I checked in late and the linen and bathrooms were clean, but it was a shame because the previous stay was much cleaner and more comfortable.

I went to Tsukuba for my husband's business. JAL City was the cheapest hotel in the Nikko group, so I didn't have any particular preferences, so I chose that one. The bed was a semi-double, so even when my husband and I slept together, it didn't feel particularly cramped and we slept soundly. It was nice to be able to choose what I needed, such as coffee sticks, tea packs, and amenities in the lobby. There were no shortages of equipment in the room, and it was comfortable, but it would have been better if the toilet seat in the bathroom was warmer.

つくばで学会があったので1泊利用しました。部屋が広く、きれいで快適に過ごせました。 朝食は和食で、一つ一つのクオリティーが高いのですが、お肉中心のメニューでサラダやデザートも無く残念でしたので評価4としました。

急に決まった予定でしたが、すぐに予約できました。とても助かりました。今回はお部屋の清掃が今ひとつでした。ベッドの下に使った後のティッシュが落ちていて、残念でした。また、お部屋の冷房に切り替わった後で、お部屋が寒かったです。暖房を貸し出して欲しかったです。以前泊まった時、朝食がとても美味しかったので、今回は食べていませんが、また宿泊したいです。
