Family-friendly Hotels in Shimoda

The property has amazing ocean views high on an outcropping, but none of the rooms with an ocean view have a balcony, except the very edge of the east wing. Wonderful gardens with a path lading down to a small beach that isn't too noteworthy. The rooms have been updated since the construction and are pretty good overall. The pool was closed in June, which was pretty disappointing, especially as the beach is below par. The onsen facilities met expectation. The beds are firm, which I loved, but not everyone likes a firm mattress. The hotel operates a bus service to pick up guests from the train station twice an hour from 9-5pm. If you are doing dinner out in the town or drinks in the evening, you have to grab a taxi back as the walk is a bit of a hike. The hotel staff are very friendly and kind, the concierge knows the area and has great recommendation for activities...wonderful and friendly people. The hotel restaurant serves a nice mostly Japanese breakfast (as expected) with local delicacies, wide range of teas, coffee and juice as well as a great selection of breads and fresh fruit. The hotel restaurant for dinner is average. Our group ordered a range of items off the menu and no one was terribly impressed. The lone stand out was the French Onion soup, packed with flavor, though a bit light on the cheese. Would stay here again if the price was right, was able to get rooms at a discount on this stay as it was rainy season.

Although it's located upon a fairly steep hill, it's walking distance from the train station. The view of the ocean from my room was totally unobstructed meaning I could see moon beams shimmering on the water and watch the orange sunrise. The room can sleep 5 people on futons, so it was spacious. The onsen is average and supplies all the essentials including combs and razors. For the price and convenience of a one night stay, I'd do it again. Many hotels and resorts along the Izu coast are old. This particular one is too. This means that the bathtub tile is stained and the sink faucets are somewhat rusty. Everything functions, so if a little oldness doesn't bother you then it's fine. Breakfast offered a wide variety of mainly Japanese foods with a few western options. However, it just wasn't all that tasty. I didn't eat any Japanese food, but wouldn't recommend foreigners looking for a western style meal to stay there for the breakfast.

I stayed for one night in early August with a child of 4 and 7 years old for Shirahama Ohama Beach in front of the hotel. The hotel on the beach is very convenient for bathing with children, but I felt that the line was better here. Check in immediately after the temperature check at the hotel entrance (the room key is received after 15 o'clock), free cloak & shower and dressing room & coin laundry is in the same area, so it becomes light It is connected from the entrance to the pool very close and is the best to move. Moreover, it is good to be close to the public bath. It was convenient to go out directly from the pool to the sea in front of you, and there was a free hot spring shower that dropped sand in the pool when I returned from the sea. There is also a paid rental towel on the pool side with a shower and it is very convenient! It was limited to one word. Coin laundry - shower and dressing room - cloak - large bath - pool - sea All of these were nearby and had a good moving line, so it was good not to take tired children around in a large building There was also a free towel in the public bath. It was easy for children without having to return to the room. It was a room plan (main building confirmation) plan, so it was the third floor of the lowest floor in the room, but it was an outstanding view with a full view of the beach and pool. The only thing that is dissatisfied is the dining hall. There is no window on the mountain side of the first floor and the atmosphere like a large hall for the reception a long time ago. I thought this was perfect if I could see the sea on the top floor or the sea. The content of the meal was buffet. It was a buffet level of so-called ordinary resort hotels, but there were no bad or small types, and there was a live kitchen and it was usually delicious. The room had basic amenities, hot water in the pot and free tea and coffee, empty refrigerator, etc.

Very good flight and comfortable in front of Izu Express Shimoda Station. I arrived by bus, but there is also a bus terminal. However, the number of flights is not large. It is in a good place to check the time and spend the time adjusting to the bus time. The room was large and cozy. The front desk is not on the １ floor of the building, but there is a guide on the elevator. It is a little difficult to find, but you can see it if you look well. The front desk had a polite staff. The morning bread is also available near the front desk, but I was grateful. However, at night, there is no pleasure town around ... is it because of the corona? It was saved because there was a supermarket. It is recommended for people who use railways and buses.

I wanted a place to stay overnight easily, so I was very helpful. The room was also non-smoking and clean, and I went after seeing the installer, but it was very fashionable, and the remote was easy to use and it was a calm environment even at this time. I had a whole day off, so I rented a rental cycle and rowed. I was very refreshed!

This time, I was very busy with the open-air bath in the room, meals in the room, and the pool, so I thought it would be nice if there was at least a plan for late check-out. You can meet unexpected animals in rich nature, and the adult pool is a little deeper, so you can enjoy a little thrill. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a woman who left the pool barefoot and walked through the corridor without wearing slippers and went straight to the public bath, which made me feel very unsanitary. Regarding his morals, I felt that a note of caution or something was necessary.

The hotel is on the beach of Duoduohu. After taking the car to Shita Station, I will change to a bus and then walk for a while. The hotel is on the hillside, so I climbed a small slope and dragged the box a bit tired. The pick-up car was parked on the edge of the Shita bus station. The room facilities are old, but the hotel service is still quite good. The front desk staff explained very clearly on the day of check-in. The lobby and room views are very good and the sea view is invincible. The hotel has an entrance to the beach, suitable for tourists who come to surf, and there are people surfing in the sea at 5 am. The hotel packages morning and evening meals, very exquisite and the service is in place. The hotel room is very large, compared to the hotel in Yokohama, it is too spacious, suitable for children to take a holiday.

I tried it for the first time because it was close to the sea and the price was cheap. When you arrive at the inn, it looks older than you see on the website. Even though I'm anxious, I'm going to receive it. I used a room with an open-air bath, but there was a problem here. It was hard to take a bath because the hot water did not fill easily. There is a distance and stairs from the dressing room to the bathroom in the large public bath, so it is expected that people with disabilities will have a hard time. The food is just okay. The response of the employees was good, so I would like to earnestly improve the hardware side.
