Sterling Kufri

Excellent hotel, clean and very well maintained rooms, room space is pretty good, staff behaviour is so good, they don’t treat you like a customer, they treat you like a family, about the food, we took the buffet, although the main course could have been better, but the starters were too delicious and mouthwatering. Overall experience 9.5 out of 10 Definitely recommend everyone to visit this hotel.
The Royal Regency Shimla

I have stayed in this property with my family from 13 to 15 November in Executive Room. The location is extraordinary with beautiful view of mountain. The room is spacious having all' the morden aminities. The restaurant was at the forth floor. The breakfast and dinner was of top quality. There are plenty of varieties to choose from, the taste was delicious. The service of all the staff members were very quick even at 12 o clock at midnight and they are very cooperative. Highly recommended property to stay in Simla. Cheers
Radisson Hotel Shimla

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Shimla. Our room was big, stylish, and had a balcony with a great view. Breakfast was pretty good, and we had the buffet dinner on our first night, which wasn't bad. The public areas are nicely decorated. Whilst we enjoyed our stay, we felt that some of the staff needed further training and were pretty lacklustre. Also we couldn't seem to get our room very warm and the hotel corridors and restaurant were all pretty cold. We had massages whilst there and the room was cold despite the staff trying to locate heaters. The complimentary shuttle bus to the mall isn't complimentary in that it costs, and you would still need to walk uphill to the Mall.

The Cedar Grand Hotel and Spa

Have been here for a day now. Have advance paid for 3 nights. Hotel is on main road which has high traffic. Parking space for own vehicle is available but is small. Rooms are good and clean. Valley view from room is good. Amenities in room miss napkins in bathroom and moisturizer. May be you need to ask for them. Gym is for name sake and has a single piece of three to four equipments including treadmill. There's a very small kids area which can hardly accomodate two kids at one time. Restaurant is in 5th floor. As only one lift for guests, have to wait for the lift. Food is good and tasty. We had opted for breakfast and dinner inclusive package. They have a fixed menu for dinner and you may choose for the same. The service is slow but food is tasty. Were not Happy with in room service and attitude at front desk. The TV did not play and when asked for the same, were denied immediate service. The person turned up attend only after the exciting ipl match was over. The location is good and near to MALL ROAD. On foot (though steep) you can reach Mall road in 15 mins. Overall, politeness and service may help hotel improve my rating.
Snow King Retreat

We have spent an excellent Christmas day at the Snow King retreat in Fagu today. We arrived there by chance because we have been staying in Kufri for a week and were especially avoiding Shimla on Christmas day because of it's infamous crowds. We headed to Fagu, further away from Kufri today afternoon and reached this resort after visiting the potato research farms. The place was decked and lit and warm but almost deserted. We ordered some pakodas and chai, left our napping preschooler with my mother in the restaurant and brisk walked up 300 steps to a famous temple called Deshu temple. Again, there was hardly a soul there, just us, the mountains, tress, chilly winds, some monkeys and of course blessings, because we did feel so blessed to have an entire mountain side almost completely to ourselves. Upon our return we were grateful to find out that the kitchen staff was waiting for us to come back to serve us hot pakodas and chai. The restaurant and the resort are over 20 years old but made of wood and that lends them a lovely warmth. It is overflowing with the owners souvenirs from everywhere and looks homely and welcoming. The staff is polite and accommodating. We spent around 3 hours there, visiting the resort, clicking pics, lounging and finally having our dinner. The food was tasty and the portions huge. We ordered Pahadi chicken with spinach and Dal makhani, both the dishes were flavorful and yummy. The food is very decently priced too. Our drive back down the mountain at night through a dense deodar forest was also beautiful. We highly recommend this place for it's food, ambiance and the drive. The staff and the accommodation too are worth recommending for their welcoming nature and warmth.
